Advances in powder bed fusion 3D printing in drug delivery and healthcare.

The main purpose of this paper is to present what the Industry 5.0 phenomenon means in the supply chain context. A systematic literature review method was used to get evidence from the current knowledge linked to this theme. The results have evidenced a strong gap related to Industry 5.0 approaches for the supply chain field. Forty-one (41) publications, including conference and journal papers, have been found in the literature. Nineteen (19) words, which were grouped in four (4) clusters, have been identified in the data analysis. This was the basis to form the four (4) constructs of Industry 5.0: Industry Strategy, Innovation and Technologies, Society and Sustainability, and Transition Issues. Then, an alignment with the supply chain context was proposed, being the basis for the incipient Supply Chain 5.0 framework and its research agenda. Industry 5.0 is still in an embryonic and ideal stage. The literature is scarce and many other concepts and discoveries are going to emerge. Although this literature review is based on few available sources, it provides insightful and novel concepts related to Industry 5.0 in the supply chain context. Moreover, it presents a clear set of constructs and a structured research agenda to encourage researchers in deploying further conceptual and empirical works linked to the subject herein explored. Organizations’ leadership, policymakers, and other practitioners involved in supply chains, and mainly those currently working with Industry 4.0 initiatives, can benefit from this research by having clear guidance regarding the dimensions needed to structurally design and implement an Industry 5.0 strategy. This article adds valuable insights to researchers and practitioners, by approaching the newest and revolutionary concept of the Industry 5.0 phenomenon in the supply chain context, which is still an unexplored theme.

From Supply Chain 4.0 to Supply Chain 5.0: Findings from a Systematic Literature Review and Research Directions

Digitalization of agriculture: A way to solve the food problem or a trolley dilemma?

This study provides an exploratory bibliometric analysis of the emerging literature on Industry 5.0, which is a new visionary concept on the future of industry. Industry 5.0 has in recent years begun to attract the interest of both practitioners and academics, but this new field can still be considered embryonic and not well documented. Therefore, this study aims to map the field and provide a preliminary picture of the emergence and status of the scientific literature on Industry 5.0. Bibliometric data covering the period from 2015 to 2021 were extracted from the Scopus database. Bibliometric analyses of overall publication volume and growth trajectory, influential documents, authors, sources and countries are performed. The exploratory analysis provides a preliminary overview of the birth and emergence of this new research area. The results are discussed in relation to theories on the emergence and evolution of new management concepts. The article closes with some speculations about the future trajectory of Industry 5.0.

An Exploratory Bibliometric Analysis of the Birth and Emergence of Industry 5.0

In this paper we tackle the concept of European identity and the way in which it is communicated by the Publication Office of the European Union. We downloaded the publications of the Publication Office labelled with ‘European Identity’, and we analysed them through Topic Modelling, eliciting six topics that constitute those documents. We analysed these topics against the different dimensions of European Identity, as described by literature: the civic component of the European identity is partly represented by a topic dealing with the rule of law and National and European identities. The cultural dimension of the European identity characterises analysed documents to a wider extent, as three topics deal with common history, heritage, and culture. In particular, a topic connecting European identity with common cultural values and education is the more used in our sample of documents, and the one which is characterising more and more these documents over time. We argue that this trend signals a particular emphasis by the European Union in identifying European Identity with shared cultural values that can be taught.

Very well into the dawn of the fourth industrial revolution (industry 4.0), humankind can hardly distinguish between what is artificial and what is natural (e.g., man-made virus and natural virus). Thus, the level of discombobulation among people, companies, or countries is indeed unprecedented. The fact that industry 4.0 is explosively disrupting or retrofitting each and every industrial sector makes industry 4.0 the famous buzzword amongst researchers today. However, the insight of industry 4.0 disruption into the industrial sectors remains ill-defined in both academic and nonacademic literature. The present study aimed at identifying industry 4.0 neologisms, understanding the industry 4.0 disruption and illustrating the disruptive technology convergence in the major industrial sectors. A total of 99 neologisms of industry 4.0 were identified. Industry 4.0 disruption in the education industry (education 4.0), energy industry (energy 4.0), agriculture industry (agriculture 4.0), healthcare industry (healthcare 4.0), and logistics industry (logistics 4.0) was described. The convergence of 12 disruptive technologies including 3D printing, artificial intelligence, augmented reality, big data, blockchain, cloud computing, drones, Internet of Things, nanotechnology, robotics, simulation, and synthetic biology in agriculture, healthcare, and logistics industries was illustrated. The study divulged the need for extensive research to expand the application areas of the disruptive technologies in the industrial sectors.

The Hype and Disruptive Technologies of Industry 4.0 in Major Industrial Sectors: A State of the Art

This study deals with line balancing of BOB T-shirt model with the help of control limit analysis and discrete event simulation of the assembly lines. In this study control limit analysis is used to measure the performance of the assembly line and used to show the bottleneck operations of the assembly line and line balancing technique improves the productivity of the sewing line of the model. BOB T-shirt model has 16 main operations and each operation’s time is analyzed as standard minute value (SMV). The main bottleneck operations are analyzed using the control limit analysis and simulation modeling. Based on the SMV of each operation, those operations which are out of lower control limit and upper control limit is called us bottlenecks of the sewing lines of the garment section and the 1st bottleneck operation is tread trimming operation. When we apply control limit analysis and discrete event simulation technique for the line balancing; the daily output has been increased from 1032 pieces to 1289 pieces. And labor productivity and machine productivity are increased from 46.9 and 54.32 to 58.59 and 71.61 respectively. And then finally, the profit that the line generated also increased from 22704 to 28358birr.
