Journal ArticleDOI

Environmental settings of seagrass meadows control rare earth element distribution and transfer from soil to plant compartments.

TL;DR: The role of seagrass meadows in the cycling and accumulation of rare earth elements and yttrium (REEY) is unknown as mentioned in this paper , however, the authors of this paper provide data on the accumulation dynamics of REEY in seagras and demonstrate that plant compartments and soil properties determine accumulation patterns.
Journal ArticleDOI

Impacts of land-use change and urban development on carbon sequestration in tropical seagrass meadow sediments.

TL;DR: In this paper , the carbon accumulation history of two seagrass meadows in Zanzibar (Tanzania) that have experienced different degrees of disturbance was assessed, and the authors showed that the two sites had similar sedimentary Corg accumulation rates (22-25 g m-2 yr-1) since the 1940s, while during the last two decades (∼1998 until 2018) they exhibited 24-30% higher accumulation of Corg, which was linked to shifts in Corg sources.
DatasetDOI

Carbon stocks and sources in Oyster Harbor (W Australia) seagrass sediments

TL;DR: In 2012, this article collected 3-replicated sediment cores (9 cm diameter and 12-15 cm long) per restored site along the planting chronosequence (i.e. years 1994, 1997, 2003, 2004, 2006).
