Observing ram pressure at work in intermediate redshift clusters with MUSE: the case of Abell 2744and Abell 370.
Alberto Moretti,Mario Radovich,Bianca M. Poggianti,Benedetta Vulcani,Marco Gullieuszik,Ariel Werle,Callum Bellhouse,Cecilia Bacchini,Jacopo Fritz,G. Soucail,Johan Richard,Andrea Franchetto,N. Tomicic,Alessandro Omizzolo +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe how they discovered and characterized 13 ram-pressure stripped galaxies in the central regions of two intermediate redshift (z$\sim$0.3-0.4) clusters, A2744 and A370, using the MUSE spectrograph.
Journal ArticleDOI
GASP. XXXII. Measuring the Diffuse Ionized Gas Fraction in Ram-pressure-stripped Galaxies
Neven Tomičić,Benedetta Vulcani,Bianca M. Poggianti,Matilde Mingozzi,Ariel Werle,Daniela Bettoni,Andrea Franchetto,Marco Gullieuszik,Alessia Moretti,Jacopo Fritz,Callum Bellhouse +10 more
TL;DR: The diffuse ionized gas (DIG) is an important component of the interstellar medium and it can be affected by many physical processes in galaxies as discussed by the authors, and the DIG emission contributes between 20% and 90% of the total integrated flux.
Journal ArticleDOI
GASP XXXIII. The ability of spatially resolved data to distinguish among the different physical mechanisms affecting galaxies in low-density environments
Benedetta Vulcani,Bianca M. Poggianti,Alessia Moretti,Andrea Franchetto,Cecilia Bacchini,Sean L. McGee,Yara L. Jaffé,Matilde Mingozzi,Ariel Werle,Neven Tomičić,Jacopo Fritz,Daniela Bettoni,Anna Wolter,Marco Gullieuszik +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented a study of 27 non-cluster galaxies: 24 of them were selected for showing asymmetries and disturbances in the optical morphology, suggestive of gas stripping, three of them are passive galaxies and were included to characterize the final stages of galaxy evolution.

GASP XXXVIII: The LOFAR-MeerKAT-VLA view on the non-thermal side of a jellyfish galaxy.
A. Ignesti,Benedetta Vulcani,Bianca M. Poggianti,Rosita Paladino,Timothy W. Shimwell,J. Healy,Myriam Gitti,Cecilia Bacchini,Alessia Moretti,Mario Radovich,Reinout J. van Weeren,Ian D. Roberts,A. Botteon,Ancla Müller,Sean L. McGee,Jacopo Fritz,Neven Tomčić,Ariel Werle,Matilde Mingozzi,Marco Gullieuszik,Marc Verheijen +20 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explored the outcomes of ram pressure stripping by studying the non-thermal radio emission of the jellyfish galaxy JW100 in the cluster Abell 2626 ($z=0.055$).
Journal ArticleDOI
GASP XXXV: Characteristics of the Diffuse Ionised Gas in Gas-stripped Galaxies
Neven Tomičić,Benedetta Vulcani,Bianca M. Poggianti,Ariel Werle,Ancla Müller,Matilde Mingozzi,Marco Gullieuszik,Anna Wolter,Mario Radovich,Alessia Moretti,Andrea Franchetto,Callum Bellhouse,Jacopo Fritz +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used optical IFU observations of 71 gas-stripped and control galaxies from the Gas Stripping Phenomena in galaxies (GASP) survey, to analyze the gas properties of the dense ionized gas and the DIG, such as metallicity, ionization parameter log(q), and the difference between the measured log[OI]/H\alpha$ and the value predicted by star-forming models.
