The geotemperature gradient is considered as taking main part in generating
the Earth’s magnetic field. It is shown that geotemperature gradient functions
as a generator of both nuclear and mantle thermoelectrical currents thanks to
the great temperature difference between the core and the mantle. The movement
of those currents is close to the radial direction towards the Earth’s
crust. However, the nuclear thermocurrents movement tends to cyclically
change into opposite one. If the mantle and core thermocurrents move oppositely,
the Earth’s crust cools down globally and ice age comes, but if they
move unidirectionally then global warming comes. The calculation show that
the Earth’s surface can warm up to not more than 10°C. The latter, considering
how human factor affects the warming of Earth, is incomparably great.
There are calculations that show power of the Earth’s thermocurrents being
enough to generate and maintain the Earth’s magnetic field, its modern dynamics
and the poles inversion.

Thermoelectric Currents of Earth’s Core Generate the Earth’s Magnetic Field

There was elaborated a method for calculating magnetic fields of the Solar
System planets. It is based on the quantum theory of electroconductivity of
metals and semiconductors. The latter helps to calculate thermoelectrical
processes, always taking place in the bowels of “hot” planets. Main elements of
those processes are planetary temperature gradients, thermo electromotive
force and radially directed thermoelectrical currents, which are associated
with Seebeck effect. Thermo electromotive force causes directional movement
of planetary thermoelectrical currents both in metal cores and other conductive
shells of planets. Those currents are big and they generate magnetic fields
of proportional intensity. The capacities of the calculation method were tested
while finding the reason why the Jupiter magnetic field is such complicated.
As a result it was specified that the source of the main magnetic field of a planet
is its metal core and the source of an additional magnetic field is the layer
of liquid metal hydrogen. There was also found the third source of a local
magnetic field of low intensity along the circular zone of the equatorial region.
The conclusion that the Jupiter’s main magnetic field has a polarity opposite
to the Earth’s one.

To the Question about the Nature and Structure of Jupiter’s Magnetic Field

A variant of the thermoelectric model of the Earth's dipole magnetic field is considered. It is based on geothermoelectric currents present in the planet's core. The currents cyclically change their direction, which leads over time either to warming on the Earth, if their movement is directed towards the Earth's crust, or to cooling, when moving towards the inner core. With each change in the direction of movement of the thermal currents, the poles of the Earth's magnetic field are inverted simultaneously. The inversion process is instantaneous (on the scale of planetary time) and is not the result of a gradual reversal on the 180° Earth's magnetic axis. At the moment of inversions of thermal currents in the core, the total geomagnetic field decreases to the level of 4.6∙10 -6 T, which is constantly supported by thermal currents of semi-conducting rocks of the lower mantle. The considered version of the thermoelectric model of the Earth's magnetic field may be promising for studying the magnetic fields of planets in the Solar system.

There was examined the model of the Earth's dipole magnetic field based on the existing geothermocurrents in the Earth's core, that occurred because of the geothermal gradient and the related Seebeck effect. The calculations showed, that the energy of geothermocurrents is enough to keep Earth's Magnetic Field (EMF) at the present level, that is about (3 - 5)10-5 T. EMF model is quite innovative in comparison to the known electrical models, because it contains two branches of the planetary thermoelectrical element: "inner core - outer core - lower mantel". These branches are connected through the more warmed and melted outer core. If the thermocurrents are simultaneously directed to the Earth's surface, a thaw period comes. If they are directed oppositely an ice age comes. As the directions of thermocurrents in the inner core change, EMF poles get inverted. At the moment of their inversion dipole magnetic field decreases up to its transitional disappearance. At the same time the pole caused by the lower mantel stays as 4.6 10-6 T. Thermoelectrical EMF model is universal. It enables us to calculate magnetic fields of any planet within the Solar System.

A New Look On the Nature of the Earth's Magnetic Field

The article is devoted to the study of thermoelectrical element. The model of thermoelectrical element of Earth’s crust was developed. Long-lived deep faults with graphite ores inside are the basis of the element, they provide continuous electrical connection between the upper part of Earth’s crust and the mantle. Temperature difference between them can reach 1 000 0С and more because of geotemperature gradient. That is why Seebeck effect causes thermopower and thermoelectrical currents moving directly upwards to arise. And that is the reason why natural electric potentials of high intensity up to –2…–10 V are fixed over graphitized rocks because of presence of thermopower. There was found a mathematical solution to quantify them. Stationary observation of those thermopotentials can help study Earth’s tense zones and control the dynamics of thermal deep processes, which are often connected with volcanic activity and seismic events.

The role of thermoelectrical elements of Earth’s crust in the study of its thermal deep processes

Solutions for finding the natural electric potential from polarized oblique-angled (4-sided with complete asymmetry) and polyhedral electron-conducting bodies found in nature are performed. An oblique body is a layer with different angles of inclination of its upper edge and side faces, i.e. a body that has complete asymmetry. A theoretical search of various combinations of the angles of inclination of the faces and the lengths of these faces allows you to select an anomaly of the electric potential for tetrahedral bodies of any complexity. A polyhedral body is an 8-sided one that approximates a sphere fairly accurately at a distance of one or more internal radii from its surface. Solutions for polarized oblique-angled (4-sided) and polyhedral electronconducting bodies are tested on examples of interpretation of anomalies of the natural electric potential observed over real ore objects. As a result, the solutions obtained expand the possibilities of the natural electric field method in solving inversion problems and, thereby, increase its efficiency.
