Devices, methods, and software are disclosed for an interactive user interface for capturing a frame of image data having a representation of a feature. In an illustrative embodiment, a device includes an imaging subsystem, one or more memory components, and one or more processors. The imaging subsystem is capable of providing image data representative of light incident on said imaging subsystem. The one or more memory components include at least a first memory component operatively capable of storing an input frame of the image data. The one or more processors may be enabled for performing various steps. One step may include receiving the image data from the first memory component. Another step may include attempting to identify linear features defining a candidate quadrilateral form in the image data. Another step may include providing user-perceptible hints for guiding a user to alter positioning of the device to enhance a capability for identifying the linear features defining a candidate quadrilateral form in the image data.

Interactive user interface for capturing a document in an image signal

Devices, methods, and software are disclosed for capturing a frame of image data having a representation of a feature. In an illustrative embodiment, a device includes an imaging subsystem, one or more memory components, and a processor. The imaging subsystem is capable of providing image data representative of light incident on said imaging subsystem. The one or more memory components include at least a first memory component operatively capable of storing an input frame of the image data. The processor is in communicative connection with executable instructions for enabling the processor for various steps. One step includes receiving the input frame from the first memory component. Another step includes generating a reduced resolution frame based on the input frame, the reduced resolution frame comprising fewer pixels than the input frame, in which a pixel in the reduced resolution frame combines information from two or more pixels in the input frame. Another step includes attempting to identify transition pairs comprising pairs of adjacent pixels in the reduced resolution frame having differences between the pixels that exceed a pixel transition threshold. Another step includes attempting to identify one or more linear features between two or more identified transition pairs in the reduced resolution frame. Another step includes providing an indication of one or more identified linear features in the reduced resolution frame.

System for capturing a document in an image signal

There is set forth herein an imaging terminal having a picture taking mode of operation. In the picture taking mode of operation the terminal can capture a frame of image data into a buffer memory prior to activation of a trigger signal. The terminal can be operative so that responsively to activation of a trigger signal, the terminal transmits one or more frames of the buffer memory to a storage memory. The terminal can further be operative so that responsively to activation of a trigger signal an operator is presented with indicators of frames captured both prior to and subsequent to the activation of the trigger signal. The terminal can be operative so that an operator can select for archiving one or more frame. The one or more frame can comprise one or more frame captured prior to activation of a trigger signal and one or more frame captured subsequent to activation of a trigger signal.

The memory that the digital image signal processing circuit includes stores driving pattern data for generating the driving signal and the timing generator receives the driving pattern data from the digital image signal processing circuit and generates the driving signal on the basis of the driving pattern data. Solid-state imaging device

PURPOSE: To quickly decode Huffman code data to generate decoded data by forming code data having fixed bit length and inputting the formed data to a decoding means. CONSTITUTION: A code data entering part 1 enters code data IN1 supplied from the external and forms code data IN2 with fixed bit length. A Huffman decoding lookup table 2 receives the code data IN2 and outputs decoded data OUT1 corresponding to a code of upper bits and a code size (n). The entering part 1 omits upper bit data only by the bits of the code size (n) outputted from the table 2, enters code data IN1 newly supplied from the external instead of the omitted data, forms the code data IN2 of the fixed bit length and supplies the data IN2 to the table 2 to repeat the processing. Thereby the table 2 outputs the decoded data OUT1 immediately after the input of code data IN2 regardless of the bit length of the code.

Huffman decoding circuit

PURPOSE:To provide a picture processing method by which picture can easily be enlarged/ reduced at the time of reproducing the picture from picture information compressed by a DCT processing with respect to the enlargement/reduction of the picture. CONSTITUTION:The picture processing method is to obtain the reduced picture from compressed picture data by using discrete cosine transformation(DCT). A process for cutting down the high frequency component of a DCT coefficient displayed by a matrix system and obtaining a corrected DCT coefficient which is frequency analyzed by the DCT processing and which can be displayed by the matrix system of a desired dimension, and the process of executing an inverse DCT calculation for the corrected DCT coefficient and for obtaining picture data of the desired dimension are provided. The picture processing method for obtaining the enlarged picture from compressed picture data by using discrete cosine transformation(DCT) has a process for adding zero as the high frequency component to the DCT coefficient which is frequency-analyzed by the ECT processing and which can be displayed is frequency-analyzed by the ECT processing and which can be displayed by the matrix system and for obtaining the corrected DCT coefficient displayed by the matrix system of the desired dimension and a process for executing inverse DCT calculation for the corrected DCT coefficient and for obtaining picture data of the desired dimension.

Discrete cosine transformation device

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accelerate a compression processing by parallelly performing the process of preparing code data by the two kinds of compression degrees after generating the DCT coefficient of a block 1 and the process of generating the DCT coefficient of the block 2. SOLUTION: A DCT part 2 performs a DCT processing to the picture data of the block 1 first, and when a controller 8 detects the end, a similar processing is performed to the blocks 2-(n). Then, for the DCT coefficient generated by ending the DCT processing to the block 1, the controller 8 instructs a quantization part 4 to perform quantization in the quantization table 11 of a scale factor SFx and quantized data are generated. When the controller 8 detects generation end, an encoding processing is instructed to an encoding part 5 and the code data of the block 1 are generated. Similarly thereafter, the processing is continued until the last block (n) and the picture data of one frame are compressed.
