An optical coupling device enabling spherical or hemispherical light sources to be more fully utilized by gathering more of the emitted radiation and reducing the angle of emission. The optical coupling device includes a first conic reflector having an aperture at the first conic reflector vertex; a second conic reflector coaxial with the first conic reflector and opening toward the first conic reflector; a light source positioned at the second conic reflector vertex; and a negative element located at the aperture for reducing the numerical aperture of the light emitted from the optical coupling device. The optical coupling device may include a refractive medium between the first and second conic reflectors. The present invention provides for improved efficiencies when transferring or coupling optical energy into additional optical systems, and may be used with solid state light as well as conventional sources.

CONSTITUTION: The illumination system for a liquid crystal projecting device includes a light source(12), the first elliptical reflecting mirror(14), the second elliptical reflecting mirror(16), a load lens(20), and a spherical lens(18). The light source(12) is located at the first focus point, and generates light beam. The first elliptical reflecting mirror(14) reflects the light beam. The second elliptical reflecting mirror(16) focuses light beam reflected from the first elliptical reflecting mirror(14) on the second focus point. The load lens(20) makes light beam focused on the second focus point parallel. The spherical lens(18) transmits light beam focused on the second focus point to the load lens(20).

The invention discloses a secondary reflection device of a stage lamp/projection lamp. The secondary reflection device comprises a light source and a reflection cup. The reflection cup is arranged on the outer side of the light source. The secondary reflection device is characterized in that an extending reflector with a reduced opening is arranged at the front of an opening of the reflection cup. An inner curved surface of the reflection cup is an elliptical curved surface, an inner curved surface of the extending reflector is positioned on an extending track of the elliptical curved surface of the reflection cup, and the light source is arranged at a focus position of the inner curved surface of the reflection cup. The secondary reflection device has the advantages that the partial scattered light rays at the opening of the reflection cup can be reflected and gathered again by the aid of the extending reflector, accordingly, the reflectivity can be improved for the light source under the condition of identical-power light sources, and the brightness can be improved; power of the light source can be reduced on the premise of identical brightness, and accordingly the purpose of saving energy can be achieved; lighting patterns outputted by the secondary reflection device can be in perfect states.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide lightweight, fiber reinforced, cementitious panels possessing exceptional toughness for use as building components in applications such as roofing elements, siding elements, framing and sheathing elements, and substrate elements for installation of floor finishes in residential and other building construction types.SOLUTION: Panels employ a continuous phase resulting from the curing of an aqueous mixture of inorganic binder, polyvinyl alcohol fibers and lightweight filler. The inorganic binder may be, for example, hydraulic cement alone, or a combination of hydraulic cement and pozzolan/s, or a combination of hydraulic cement, α hemihydrate, active pozzolan and optionally lime. The polyvinyl alcohol fibers reinforce the continuous phase and are randomly distributed throughout the composite. Typical panels have a density of 60-85 pcf.

CONSTITUTION: The light beams (A 1 and B 1 ) which are emitted by the light source positioned at a focus F1 of a parabolic reflector 21 and directly reflected by reflecting surfaces 21A and 21B of the parabolic reflector 21 are made into parallel beams, which are projected. Light beams (A 2 and B 2 ) which are emitted from F1 and directly reflected by the reflecting surfaces 21A and 21B of the parabolic reflector 21 become slanting lights which slant to an optical axis of projection. Light beams (C 2-1 and D 2-1 ) which are emitted from F2 and reflected by reflecting surfaces 23C and 23D of an elliptic reflector 23, on the other hand, pass the focus F1 of the parabolic reflector 21 and are then reflected by reflecting surfaces 21C and 21D of the parabolic reflector 21 to become parallel light beams. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a fiber-reinforced hydraulic hardened body with toughness and aseismaticity and a hydraulic paste as a base material of the hardened body. SOLUTION: The paste contains at least a hydraulic material, water and a reinforcing fiber whose part is a polyvinyl alcohol fiber with thickness of >=8 dtex and =8 cN/dtex. Compression strength of the standard hardened body is 45-70 MPa.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a reinforcing material having significantly improved uniform dispersibility and reinforcing effect by using a fiber having a specified denier, aspect ratio, fracture strength, elongation, and bending strength efficiency. SOLUTION: The fiber used has >5-denier fineness, 10 to 500 aspect ratio, >=5 g/d fracture strength, 6 to 20% elongation and >=35% bending strength efficiency, satisfying (strength efficiency)>=(elongation)×4. The fiber is preferably a polyvinylalcohol fiber. In order to increase the uniform mixing property of the fiber and to suppress production of primary cracks, the fiber is preferably controlled to 300 to 6000 d fineness, >35 aspect ratio and >=7% elongation and is preferably added by 0.2 to 2 vol.%. Or, if the main purpose is to improve the shock resistance after the primary cracks are produced, the fiber is controlled to 5 to 100 d fineness and 20 to 500 aspect ratio and is preferably added by 1 to 4 vol.%.
