A system and method for accessing, controlling and monitoring a data processing device in which a video raster signal from the data processing device is analyzed to determine the information displayed on a video display monitor attached to the data processing device is used. The video raster signal is converted to a digital form and a cyclic redundancy check is performed on the digital data to determine the information contained in the video raster signal and to generate a compressed representation of that information. The information may then easily and quickly be transmitted to a remote location for analysis and review. Additionally, commands from the remote location can be transmitted to the system to control the data processing device.

System and method for remote monitoring and operation of personal computers

A remote access device is disclosed for capturing, digitizing and communicating video signals from a host computer to a remote computer. The remote computer returns keyboard and mouse signals through the remote access device to the host computer to control the host computer as though the remote keyboard and mouse were directly connected to the host computer. The remote access device includes a circuit module interface for the host computer that allows the remote access device to operate independently of any operating system characteristics associated with the host computer.

A method of animating a sprite in a video production comprising a plurality of sequential video frames is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of selecting (2004) a feature, with which the sprite is to be juxtaposed, in one of said video frames, applying (2006) a feature tracking process to the video production to thereby output (2008), for a series of said plurality of video frames containing the feature, a temporal-spatial record for the feature across the plurality of video frames, and compositing (2010), with the series of said plurality of video frames, a corresponding series of instantiations of the sprite dependent upon the temporal-spatial record.

Interactive animation of sprites in a video production

A video signal, replay by a video player, is subjected to image processing by a calculation control part of a video image searching device to calculate the image quality value and another feature value. An image whose image quality satisfies a predetermined condition and whose feature value matches a predetermined condition is detected as an image in which an event has occurred. Such images are printed on an output paper together with associated addition information. A main control part of a video image access device reads out the additional information on the output paper by a scanner and effects control via a video control part to search the image corresponding to that information by a video player.

Video image search method and system using the same

A printer system, including both digital and analog image reproducing apparatuses and a printer apparatus for printing image information reproduced by said digital and analog reproducing apparatuses, has a data bus connecting the digital image reproducing apparatus to the printer apparatus, and a status information supplying device coupled to the printer apparatus. The device supplies status information indicative of an operation condition of the printer apparatus through the data bus from the printer apparatus to the digital image reproducing apparatus. The printer system also includes first and second image information supplying devices. The first image information supplying device is coupled to said digital image reproducing apparatus and supplies the digital image information reproduced according to the status information through the data bus from the digital information reproducing apparatus to the printer apparatus. The second image information supplying device supplies the analog image information to the printer apparatus. The printer system also includes a device enabling at least one of the first image information supplying device and the second image information supplying device.

Image reproduction system for reproducing a still image from a video tape

A video signal frame search apparatus for selecting a frame from a video signal recorded on a magnetic tape, e.g. for supplying the frame to a video printer, is based on a system controller which controls playback and rewind operations of a VTR during a frame search operation. When a desired frame is displayed during such a frame search operation, actuation of a switch by the user causes a plurality of frames adjcent to and including the desired frame to be stored in a memory and then displayed simultaneously, enabling the user to specify to the system controller the precise position of the desired frame.
