The present invention relates to a glass meting furnace comprising a channel-shaped melting tank, the batch materials being introduced at an upstream end, the molten glass being recovered at the downstream end, said furnace being heated by means of burners, in which the combustion energy is produced by oxy-fuel combustion in respect of at least 65% thereof, the burners being distributed on the walls along the length of the furnace, in which flue gas discharge is mostly localized close to the upstream end near the openings through which the batch materials are introduced, the rest of the flue gas being removed close to the downstream part so as to maintain dynamic sealing with respect to the surrounding atmosphere.

A method of cultivating crops and cover-crops, interactively and sustainably, using a novel hot water apparatus. The apparatus enables the farmer to prepare a soil bed for planting with a no-till method that: controls nematodes and soil pathogens, promotes nutrient cycling of cover crops and organic materials, kills weeds and weed seeds, and cultivates healthy soil micro flora. A low-pressure (5-60 psi) hot water (120-209 F) delivery system, characterized by a flexible mat which evenly distributes water to the underside of the mat where an attached layer of material with a high water holding capacity saturates and conducts scalding water onto the weeds. A hot water recirculation and heat exchange system reduces water demands while maintaining a high thermo charge in the mat. After soil cools, plants or seeds are planted directly through the mulch of dead weeds or cover crop. Inoculation of soil of microbes promote soil health and crop production.

A method and a system for soil disinfection and aeration by generating shock waves and a flow of detonation products on soil particles. The system includes a combustion chamber having an input port for supplying a predetermined air-fuel mixture to the combustion chamber. An igniter for igniting the air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber. Means for shifting soil particles into an internal space where shock waves propagate. Rotovator which has rotary blades crumbles soil and shifts soil particles into the internal space of the rotovator. A flame arrester is attached between an air- fuel supply line and the input port. An outlet nozzle increases pressure of the detonation wave and thereby increases the pressure of shock waves and the velocity of detonation products. A reflecting plate operates to reflect shock waves after the shock waves pass the soil particles. Soil particles receive an additional impact during collision with the reflector plate. The system may be connected and pulled by a mode of transportation used in agriculture, such as a tractor, to efficiently disinfect large areas of soil.
