Context: Considering the stressful conditions of life and social difficulties, an important question is why are some people can show positive adaptation and avoid mental health disorders, while others cannot? The present study aimed at reviewing the national studies on the correlation between resilience and mental health. Evidence Acquisition: In this systematic review, all national articles published in international and national databases were searched without restrictions, using the following keywords: "Resilience OR Resiliency" AND "Mental health" OR "General Health" and their combinations. The Persian equivalents of these words were also used in Persian language sites. Finally, based on PRISMA guidelines, 15 studies were selected. The results of these studies were combined using the random effects model of meta-analysis. Results: In the present research, 16 correlation studies were examined without time limits, and with a sample size of 3157. Overall, a positive correlation was found between resilience and mental health in the national studies (r = 0.48). The results showed that the correlation between resilience and mental health was lower in the population of school and university students than among other populations (r = 0.39, compared to r = 0.54). The analysis based on geographical division indicated that the highest correlation between resilience and mental health existed in the fifth area (r = 0.83), and the lowest correlation was found in the fourth area (r = 0.35). Conclusions: By providing cognitive, behavioral and emotional responses in stressful situations, resilience can maintain and improve mental health.

The Relationship Between Mental Health and Resilience: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

In addition to physical problems, the COVID-19 crisis continues to impose serious psychological adverse effects on people's mental health, which plays a major role in the efficiency of every community. Students, especially medical sciences students, suffer from more stress as a result of exposure to COVID-induced stressors. It is, therefore, essential to measure mental health and its relationship with social support in medical sciences students during the COVID pandemic. The present study was conducted to determine the mental health status of students and its correlation with social support. This cross-sectional study was conducted using random sampling on 280 students of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences in Iran in 2020. Socio-demographic profile scale, Mental Health Test (GHQ-28), and the scale of Perceived Social Support (PRQ-85) were used to collect data. Participants completed the questionnaires online. Considering the potential confounding variables, a general linear model (GLM) was utilized to determine the relationship between mental health and perceived social support. Mean (± standard deviation) of total mental health score 26.5 (12.5) was in the acceptable range of 0–63., and 56% of students suffered from a mental disorder. Mean (± standard deviation) of social support score 128.2 (21.0) ranged from 25 to175. According to Pearson's correlation coefficient, there was a significant inverse correlation between social support score and total mental health score and all its subscales [p < 0.001; r =  − 0.294 to − 0.536]. According to the GLM, mental health score decreased significantly with social support score [p = 0.0001; − 0.32 to − 0.20; CI 95%; B = 0.26]. Given the inverse relationship between social support and mental health, it is suggested to increase the level of social support for students at all times, especially during the stressful COVID-19 pandemic to improve their mental health.

Mental health and its relationship with social support in Iranian students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

مقدمه: ظرفیت تاب آوری به عنوان یک عامل پیش بینی کننده جهت جلوگیری و کاهش تنیدگی و استرس های حرفه ای محسوب
می شود. در این زمینه یکی از مهمترین مهارتهایی که باعث پیش بینی و ارتقاء تاب آوری می شود برخورداری از هوش هیجانی است. پژوهش
حاضر با هدف تعیین تأثیر آموزش مهارت هوش هیجانی بر میزان تاب آوری پرستاران روان پزشکی در سال 1393 انجام شد.
روش ها: در این مطالعه شبه تجربی، جامعه پژوهش شامل پرستاران شاغل در بیمارستان روانپزشکی روزبه بود که، مبتنی بر معیارهای
ورود و محاسبات حجم نمونه 76 نفر انتخاب و سپس به روش تصادفی ساده به دو گروه مداخله و شاهد تخصیص داده شدند. داده ها توسط
پرسشنامه های جمعیت شناسی، هوش هیجانی بار- آن و تاب آوری کانر و دیویدسون جمع آوری گردید. ابتدا هر دو پرسشنامه توسط گروه
مداخله و کنترل تکمیل سپس با برگزاری یک کارگاه یک روزه برای افراد گروه مداخله آموزشهای لازم در خصوص هوش هیجانی و مهارتهای
آن همراه با تمرین های عملی در کارگاه ارائه گردید. در ادامه به مدت شش هفته با آموزشهای مکتوب )از طریق ارائه پمفلت های آموزشی
مهارت هوش هیجانی بار- آن( نهادینه سازی آموزش ها پیگیری شد. سپس هر دو پرسشنامه مجددا توسط هر دو گروه مداخله و کنترل
تکمیل گردید. جهت تجزیه و تحلیل داده ها از آزمون کوواریانس در نرم افزار 19 spss استفاده شد.
یافته ها: یافته های پژوهش نشان داد که متغیرهای جمعیت شناسی بین دو گروه مداخله و شاهد همسان بوده اند. میانگین نمره
هوش هیجانی قبل از مداخله در گروه مداخله 91 / 29 ± 72 / 329 و در گروه کنترل 55 / 36 ± 73 / 326 بود ) 501 / p=0 ( که بعد از مداخله در
گروه مداخله 27 / 37 ± 51 / 354 و در گروه شاهد به 92 / 34 ± 92 / 325 رسید ) 003 / p=0 (. تحلیل کواریانس با مقدار احتمال 004 / 0 نشان داد
که تغییرات ایجاد شده در هوش هیجانی گروه مداخله ناشی از مداخله بود. میانگین نمره تاب آوری قبل از مداخله در گروه مداخله 47 / 12 ±
61/71 و در گروه شاهد 14 / 15 ± 70 / 57 بود ) 098 / p=0 ( که بعد از مداخله در گروه مداخله 48 / 13 ± 40 / 70 و در گروه شاهد به 71 / 13
± 58/92 رسید ) 001 / p=0 (. تحلیل کواریانس با مقدار احتمال 001 / 0 نشان داد که تغییرات ایجاد شده در تاب آوی گروه مداخله ناشی از
مداخله بود.
نتیجه گیری: یافته های حاصل از پژوهش نشان داد که آموزش مهارتهای هوش هیجانی تاب آوری پرستاران بخش های
روانپزشکی را ارتقاء داد، در حالی که قبل و بعد از مداخله در گروه شاهد تغییری حاصل نشده بود. لذا توصیه می شود آموزش مهارتهای هوش
هیجانی در برنامه آموزش ضمن خدمت پرستاران گنجانده شود.

The Relationship between Spiritual Intelligence and Resiliency of Rehabilitation Staff.

Introduction: Mindfulness is considered as a promoter of self-awareness thinking to improve anxiety and anxiety. Therefore, in order to identify the bio-psychological foundations and treatment of anxiety in women, in this study, the effectiveness of mindfulness-based group therapy on resilience. Life expectancy and anxiety in anxious women were examined. Methods: This study was a quasi-experimental (pre-test-post-test with a one-month control and follow-up group). The statistical population of the present study consisted of all women who referred to Karaj city counseling centers in 2019 due to anxiety or related problems, of which 30 were selected by available sampling method and randomly in Two experimental groups (15 subjects) and control subjects (15 subjects) were included. During eight 90-minute sessions, the experimental group was subjected to mindfulness-based therapy group 2 days a week, but no intervention was performed on the control group. Both before and after the intervention, and after a month of follow-up, both groups answered Spielberger's state-of-the-art anxiety questionnaires, Connor and Davidson's resilience, and Schneider's hope. To analyze the data, repeated measurement analysis of variance was used using SPSS software version 23. Results: There was a significant difference between the mean post-test scores of the intervention and control groups, so that mindfulness training reduced anxiety in the control group (p <0.01). The results also showed that mindfulness training increased resilience and life expectancy (p <0.01). Conclusions: According to the obtained results, the use of group therapies such as mindfulness has positive effects on reducing anxiety and increasing the resilience and life expectancy of anxious women. Therefore, in different stages of treatment or after, it is possible to help reduce anxiety and increase the resilience and hope of anxious women by providing this type of training.
