The 5th-generation mobile communication system (5G) has higher security requirements than previous systems. Accordingly, international standard organizations, operators, and equipment manufacturers are focusing extensively on 5G security technology. This paper analyzes the security requirements of 5G business applications, network architecture, the air interface, and user privacy. The development trends of 5G security architecture are summarized, with a focus on endogenous defense architecture, which represents a new trend in 5G security development. Several incremental 5G security technologies are reviewed, including physical layer security, lightweight encryption, network slice security, user privacy protection, and block chain technology applied to 5G.

Overview of 5G security technology

Advances in remote interchanges, the internet of nano things have empowered the wireless body area networks (WBAN) to end up a promising systems of networking standard. It involves interconnected tiny sensors to gather ongoing biomedical data and transmit over the network for further analysis. Due to possibility of active and passive number of attacks, the healthcare data security is quite essential and challenging. This paper presents the systematic literature review (SLR) of the multiple security schemes for WBAN. We have identified a research question to analyses the possibility of several attacks while preserving the memory constraints. We have performed quality valuation to ensure the relevance of schemes with the research question. Moreover, the schemes are considered from 2016 to 2020 to focus on recent work. In literature, several existing schemes are explored to identify how the security is enhanced for exchanging patients' healthcare data. The data security schemes using AES, ECC, SHA-1 and hybrid encryption are analyzed based on influential traits. Several methodologies for data security in WBAN are considered and the most appropriate methodologies are appraised. We also analyses the security for different attack scenarios.

The new generation of wireless body area networks (WBAN) for the internet of things (IoT) is emerging in a fast-paced. Today patients can be tested using remote clinical nanosensors. WBAN involves small interconnected sensors for the collection of ongoing medical data and transmitted through the networks for further processing. However, the protection of healthcare data is very important and difficult because of the various active and passive numbers of attacks. Although there exist several literatures on data security techniques such as digital signatures, Elliptic curve cryptography, and Advanced Encryption Standards (AES) they contain stumbling blocks for the security methodologies. Thus, in this paper, a novel data protection genetic-based encryption scheme is proposed for higher performance.

Encryption-free data transmission and hand-over in two-tier body area networks.

Nowadays, statistics show an increase in the diseases of the circulatory system in United Arab Emirates, which makes it the first leading cause of death. This prompted a high demand for adopting an emerging technology of e- Health monitoring systems using Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN), which collects patient’s data and communicates it effectively to the relevant healthcare providers for continues monitoring of patient’s health conditions. Since patient’s data is private, securing the WBAN becomes very essential. In this paper, we propose and implement an energy efficient and lightweight encryption algorithm to secure the communication between a WBAN sensor and a mobile device in e-Health monitoring system. More specifically, our proposed solution adds a layer of encryption to the three-tier architecture used by the WABN to encrypt the patient’s vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, respiration rate, and blood pressure) captured by the sensor and sent to a mobile device that a patient carries. Our implementation results show that our Lightweight Encryption Algorithm (LEA) is the more suitable for WBAN environment, where the devices used (sensors and mobile devices) have limited memory space and small processing power are very small, than those of conventional encryption algorithms.

In this paper there is a proposed design architecture to secure data transmission from WBAN sensor to mobile in e-Health monitoring system by encrypting the vital signs of a patient using Lightweight Encryption Algorithm (LEA).
