The patent paradox in crowdfunding: an empirical analysis of Kickstarter data

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed whether projects signaling patent technologies have a higher probability of funding success on a reward-based crowdfunding platform as compared with a control group of similar projects, and they found that despite solid evidence in entrepreneurial finance literature on the positive role of patents for accessing financing from professional investors such as venture capitals and business angels, they pointed out a negative signaling role of patent.

Student and Graduate Entrepreneurship in Italy - Report 2020

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used data retrieved from the AlmaLaurea database, which includes characteristics of the 2,891,980 graduates who obtained a degree from an Italian university from 2004 to 2018, combined with data on the 236,362 companies they have founded and the 68,852 companies in which they hold equity shares.
