In this study, the authors aimed to realize a smart home using an AI model that can be integrated with the Laboratory Virtual Instrument Engineering Workbench (LabVIEW) application to realize environment control. The collected input data were outdoor temperature, indoor temperature, humidity, illumination, and indoor person count. The output control decisions included control of air conditioners, dehumidifiers, power curtains, and lights. An artificial neural network was utilized to process the input data for machine learning for the objective of achieving a comfortable environment. In addition, the control decision predictions made by this AI model were analyzed for model loss and model accuracy. This study implemented the model. Specifically, LabVIEW was used to design the sensing component, data display, and control interface, and Python was used to establish the intelligent model. Moreover, by using the web publishing tool built into LabVIEW, remote sensing and control were fulfilled in this implementation.

Establishing an AI Model on Data Sensing and Prediction for Smart Home Environment Control Based on LabVIEW

This paper presents the design of solar powered smart home with wireless sensor network which deals with smart energy management, smart health care, smart ventilation, along with smart people management. The sensor network is spread at entrance Gate, Corridor, living room and kitchen. The two internet of things(IoT) design prototypes are used for wireless communication first one is developed by using Bluetooth for short range offline communication and another by using Global system for mobile communication(GSM) for long range offline communication. ZigBee and Wi-Fi is used for online control and monitoring. The smart home derives power from the solar panel through Maximum powerpoint tracking(MPPT) controller which provides maximum efficiency. Internal infrastructure is able to take action against certain unpredictable situation when owner may not present in the home. The owner is also notified about the problem that has been occurs. A hardware model is developed with proper sensor control scheme. This model is developed to provide online and offline control and monitoring of smart home. All power requirement of smart home is meet by self-generated solar power. The complete system is designed in the laboratory.

Proposed Cryptographic Approach for Securing IOT Device

The advancement of automation technologies made lives simpler and easier in all aspects. In today’s world, automated systems [1] are replacing manual systems progressively. In this paper, an overview of current and emerging home automation systems is discussed. Then, the developed system is presented that is a one-stop-shop for all the use cases with the novelty of transforming traditional homes into smart homes through merging Artificial Intelligence (AI) [2] and Internet of Things (IoT) [3] thus providing the freedom to connect, integrate, monitor, and control houses remotely, securely, and at a cheaper cost. The use of AI allows monitoring and analyzing data through dashboards. Hence, sending realtime notifications to the user to ensure home management and security remotely. Also, the novelty in introducing IoT in this system is through incorporating different modalities and functions in one system controlled remotely for example the automation and monitoring system [4], the wireless [5] irrigation system, and the security system. All the components are controlled and monitored using a central web and mobile application. On the hardware components side, the system consists of the Raspberry Pi, the RFID Card Reader, the 8-channel relay module, and some sensors. Hence, the presented system is wholesome and scalable, so the user can start small and grow on demand, as this solution is loosely coupled, and tightly integrated. In brief, the solution is a secure, reliable, cheap, and all-inclusive smart home automated system.

Home Automation Using Iot – Breaking Barriers And Changing Lives

Internet of things (IoT) is a concept which enables communication between interconnecting devices and applications. Whereby physical objects or thing communicate through the internet. We are entering a new era of computing technology. IoT is a sort of “universal global neural network” in the cloud which connects various things. The IoT is an intelligently connecting device and systems which comprised of smart machines interacting and communicating with other machine environments, objects & infrastructures. It also comprises radio frequency identification (RFIO) sensor network technology will rise to meet new challenges. With the advancement of Automation technology. Life is getting simpler and easier in all aspects. Wireless home automation system (WHAS) using IoT is the system that use a microprocessor and mobile devices to control basic home functions and features automatically through the internet from anywhere around the world, an automated home is also called as a smart home. It is meant to reduce the impact on the environment. The home automation system offers from other systems by allowing the user to operate the system through an internet connection.

Home Automation System with the use of Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence



WSNs are composed of various tiny low battery power Sensor Nodes (SNs). It is required to sense the dynamic network environments, which may fluctuate due to external factors or the system model itself. Furthermore, sensory data is transmitted over the communication channel to the destination. Integration of Artificial Neural Network (ANN) in WSNs provides the facility to learn SNs and networks from past experiences and make the predictions based on them. The computational ability of ANN may help to choose an efficient route for data transfer in WSNs. Also, it is able to improve the performance of the network w.r.t power consumption, latency, throughput, etc. This work explores an efficient way to manage the energy of the SNs using an ANN-based routing approach for the selection of Cluster Head (CH).



In this work, an ANN-based and algorithmic approach has been applied to select the CH. Various popular routing strategies such as LEACH-C, TEEN, SEP & DEEC have been used for simulation. LEACH-C and TEEN belong to the homogeneous category, while SEP and DEEC are categorized as heterogeneous. ANN based CH selection strategy has been proposed and compared with the other routing techniques.



ANN based CH selection strategy has been simulated and compared. Results revealed that CH election based on ANN will enhance the network lifetime. It is clear from the simulation results that ANN-DEEC is much more stable than protocols of the same category.



ANN-DEEC outperforms five times more than LEACH-C, 2.5 times more than TEEN and SEP, twice DEEC and 10-20% more than EDDEC and Advanced-DEEC. ANN-DEEC transmits 71021 packets to BS more than any other protocol.
