Journal ArticleDOI

An improved Ewing heat probe frame

TL;DR: In this article, the Ewing heat probe frame was improved through the design of a new takedown model whose parts are held together by lynch pins, which makes it feasible for one person to handle, transport, and assemble the new unit.
Journal ArticleDOI

A seabed drifter study of near-bottom circulation in North Carolina shelf waters

TL;DR: In this article, a divergence zone separating onshore from offshore near-bottom flow was found in Onslow Bay, and the location of this zone remained constant during the duration of the present study.
Journal ArticleDOI

Extending the versatility of the Bullard heat probe

TL;DR: A versatile probe for simultaneous studies of heat flow and near-bottom water parameters has evolved through modifications of the Bullard heat probe frame as mentioned in this paper, which can be used to study heat flow through the ocean floor, water column temperature structure, near bottom current speeds, and differential cooling of temperature sensors placed in a current speed gradient.
