The present invention provides methods, devices, and systems for wireless physiological sensor patches and systems which incorporate these patches. The systems and methods utilize a structure where the processing is distributed asymmetrically on the two or more types of ASIC chips that are designed to work together. The invention also relates to systems comprising two or more ASIC chips designed for use in physiological sensing wherein the ASIC chips are designed to work together to achieve high wireless link reliability/security, low power dissipation, compactness, low cost and support a variety of sensors for sensing various physiological parameters.

Wireless physiological sensor patches and systems

A wireless medical signal processing system for health monitoring is disclosed which achieves high wireless link reliability/security, low power dissipation, compactness, low cost and supports a variety of sensors for various physiological parameters. The system includes a medical signal processor which communicates with a wireless distributed sensor system as its peripheral for detecting physiological parameters of the person and for providing signals indicative thereof. The medical signal processor wirelessly receives the signals from the distributed wireless sensor system in a multiplexed fashion and processes the signals to provide an indication of the health of the person. The indication of health could relate to a disease state, general health or fitness level of a person. The system also includes a mobile device for receiving the indication of the health of the person to allow for a diagnosis or treatment of the person.

A medical signal processing system with distributed wireless sensors

A system and method for determining a coagulation time, e.g., TT, PT, aPTT, and ACT, of a blood test sample deposited in a test cartridge is disclosed. A cartridge housing having upper and lower major sides and a minor sidewall encloses a test chamber having a test chamber pivot element and is provided with a cartridge port for introducing a test sample into the test chamber,. Ferromagnetic agitator vane leaflets extend from an agitator pivot element supported by the test chamber pivot element intermediate the upper and lower major sides for rotational motion. The agitator vane leaflets can be swept, in response to an external magnetic field, through the test sample in the absence of coagulation. A timer is started when the agitator movement is commenced whereupon the agitator moves freely. Resistance to agitator movement due to coagulation is detected, and the coagulation time is measured.

Blood coagulation test cartridge, system, and method

A distributed sensor based mobile/remote monitoring system for the management of various types of disease is disclosed. The system is capable of continuously monitoring a variety of parameters relating to the state of various diseases. The parameter monitoring can be continuous, periodic or episodic. A system to manage particular types of diseases can be defined by selecting appropriate parameters for that disease. A cardiac care product, based on the distributed sensor based mobile/remote monitoring system, is also disclosed. The product comprises a distributed sensor system including at least one patch for wirelessly monitoring a physiological parameter; and a biostrip for providing analysis of the blood of a person. The product further includes a mobile device for receiving signals from the distributed sensor system. The mobile device has one mechanism that includes a real-time wireless monitoring of the physiological parameter and a second mechanism that monitors the analysis of the blood.

Integrated mobile healthcare system for cardiac care

The present invention generally relates to systems and methods for delivering and/or receiving a substance or substances such as blood, from subjects, e.g., from the skin and/or from other tissues of the body. In some cases, the device may contain a substance transfer component such as needles or microneedles, which can be inserted into the skin or another organ to deliver and/or receiving fluid or other substances from the subject. In some embodiments, the device may include an activator constructed and arranged to insert one or more substance transfer components into the skin or other organ. In certain cases, the device may also include a storage chamber for receiving a fluid received from the subject.

Clinical and/or consumer techniques and devices

The present invention provides improved systems and methods for verifying accurate test performance of monitoring systems, particularly for point-of-care service. Such monitoring systems typically include a test element containing the test reagent(s), and an electronic analyzer device. A blood or other patient sample is applied to the test element, which is introduced to the analyzer. As the reaction proceeds, the analyzer stores the data and outputs the testing result. Accuracy in the result is dependent upon proper functioning of both the test element and the analyzer. The systems of the present invention provide indicators to evaluate the integrity of the test elements and a verification device to evaluate the performance of the analyzer. Such systems may be provided as kits with instructions for use.
