Murat Şakir Ekşi,Çağrı Canbolat,Ahmet Akbaş,Berk Barış Özmen,Ebubekir Akpinar,Murat İmre Usseli,Abuzer Güngör,Mustafa Güdük,Mehmet Hacihanefioglu,Ayça Erşen Danyeli,Koray Özduman,M. Necmettin Pamir +11 more
TL;DR: Even though elderly patients operated for intracranial meningioma had higher morbidity and mortality rates compared to younger patients, surgery is still much more beneficial than wait-and-see strategy in elderly patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lumbar intervertebral disc degeneration, end-plates and paraspinal muscle changes in children and adolescents with low-back pain.
Murat Şakir Ekşi,Emel Ece Özcan-Ekşi,Berk Barış Özmen,Veli Umut Turgut,Sibel Emilie Huet,Taha Dinç,Müjdat Kara,Serdar Özgen,M. Memet Özek,M. Necmettin Pamir +9 more
TL;DR: Fatty infiltration in the paraspinal muscles and IVDD were closely associated with Modic changes in children and adolescents with LBP, which could be the result of a mechanical pathology.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevalence of Thoracic Scoliosis in Adolescents in Turkey: Analysis of 1065 Chest Radiographs.
Murat Şakir Ekşi,Emel Ece Özcan-Ekşi,Sibel Emilie Huet,Taha Dinç,Berk Barış Özmen,Mehmet Akif Akçal +5 more
TL;DR: The results showed that plain posterior-anterior chest radiographs could be used adjunct to SSSPs to accurately detect prevalence of scoliosis in adolescents.
Journal ArticleDOI
Schmorl’s nodes could be associated with intervertebral disc degeneration at upper lumbar levels and end-plate disease at lower lumbar level in patients with low back pain
Murat Şakir Ekşi,Veli Umut Turgut,Gürkan Berikol,Berk Barış Özmen,Sibel Emilie Huet,Taha Dinç,Doğu Küçüksüleymanoğlu,Ömer Tarık Orhun,Emel Ece Özcan-Ekşi +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors detected the prevalence of Schmorl's nodes (SNs) and other end-plate defects in subjects with/without low back pain and to understand whether SNs were associated with LBP and spinal degeneration.
Journal ArticleDOI
If you look this way, you will see it: cranial shift in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis
TL;DR: Accurate spinal column assessment is critical in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS).
