A passenger car has a bottom section which receives the vehicle body in an adhesively bonding channel and is reinforced by bottom-section longitudinal members, a front frame and a bulkhead dividing the passenger compartment of the vehicle body from the region of the front frame. In this connection, the front frame forms a common component together with the vehicle body, is preferably welded to the vehicle body, and a sub-frame, which is designed as a cross-member and can be connected to the bottom section, serves to receive the entire drive unit. These measures result, on the one hand, in the vehicle body having adequate stability as a conveying unit during assembly without needing special stays for this purpose. On the other hand, these enable the length of the adhesively bonding channel, which serves to connect the vehicle body and the bottom section, to be shortened.

Die Herstellung einer derartigen Baugruppe zeichnet sich vorteilhaft durch einfache und ubersichtliche Montageschritte (bei erheblicher Reduzierung von Fehlerquellen), durch verkurzte Montagezeiten und eine weitgehende Vermeidung von Uberkopfarbeiten aus. Die vormontierte Baugruppe ermoglicht ferner durch eine Entkoppelung gegen Fahrgerausche bei der Klebverbindung mit der Karosserie einen wesentlich erhohten Fahrkomfort.
