A remote-control modular lighting system utilizing a directional wireless remote control for the selective adjustment and programming of individual lighting modules is disclosed. Individual lighting modules may be selected for adjustment by momentarily pointing the remote control at the lighting module to be adjusted. Subsequent adjustments may be done without aiming at the lamp, allowing the operators attention to be on the subject being lit. For home or retail applications, control functions may include aiming of the light, switching on and off the light, and dimming. Theatrical applications may also include control of spot size and color. Lighting modules may also be controlled as a group or individually. Different groups of lights may be defined within the remote, and lights may be members of multiple groups. The system further provides the ability to store a series of commands associated with a particular light (either within the light or the remote), and the ability to selectively execute a series a stored series of commands. Applications of a stored timed command series might include such things as a theatrical performance. Applications for recalling individual commands for single lights or groups of lights include home use where such lighting settings as “romance”, “TV”, and “Reading” could be recalled, and retail use where settings for a particular merchandise display could be recalled.

Remote controlled lighting apparatus and method

A remote control assembly comprising a signal light and a spotlight comprises a lamp receptacle, a combined light, two driving device for the combined light, a base stand, circuit board and suction disk. The combined light includes signal light and spotlight, lamp shields, reflector and supporting shafts. When assembled, it is rotatably mounted in the lamp receptacle. One of driving device can make the combined light rotate upward and downward in the range of 250°, and can provide large visual angle in the evening or at night, even beyond 90°, and the other driving device can make the combined light rotate horizontally in the wide range of 360°. In addition, it (the combined light) has good performance of weather proof and super bright illumination. In emergency condition, its flashing light can be seen from several kilometers away. It is suitable for use on deck, galley, trailers and utility vehicles.

An improved lighting control architecture provides many different kinds of controlling options. A single channel per line communication is described. This can be used to form single channel DMX to communicate with DMX format luminaires, while still using only one communication per line. The controlling console has only a single connector that outputs information for all luminaires. This is connected to a distribution rack, which itself includes plural connectors but spaced from the console. The multiple connectors can represent communications in many different formats including format of one lamp per line, or time division multiplexed formats of many lamps per line.

Lighting communication architecture

A rotatable optical device housing and mounting platform is disclosed. The optical device housing includes a bezel, front housing and rear housing. The optical device housing can include a number of lighting devices, including light-emitting diodes (LEDs), high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps, halogen lights, incandescent lights, or imaging devices, such as cameras, while utilizing the same bezel, front housing and rear housing. The depicted device can include a vertical tilt, which is adjustable either manually or electronically. A slip ring system provides continuous 360 rotation ability, with controllable and adjustable speed settings. Alternatively, a stop can be used instead of the slip ring, wherein the stop serves as a point of reversal of the unit's rotation. The unit contains an optional home position, allowing a user to select a point in the horizontal rotation to which the unit will return at the touch of a button.

Rotatable optical device housing and mounting platform

The present invention relates to an illumination device comprising a base, a U-shaped yoke connected to and rotatable relative to the base and a head connected to and rotatable relative to the yoke. The U-shaped yoke comprise two upstanding arms and the head is mounted between the upstanding arms. The head comprises at least one light source generating a light and the yoke comprises two interlocked U-shaped yoke shell parts. The present invention relates also to a method of manufacturing such illumination device. The method comprises the steps of providing the base, providing the head and providing the yoke where the step of providing the yoke comprises the step of locking two yoke shell parts together across the entire width of said yoke.

A variable light modifier provides rapid beam deflection and flipping with a minimum of noise, power consumption and heat generation. In one embodiment of the invention, a dual-sided reflector is pivotable along orthogonal axes by pan and tilt mechanisms. The pan and tilt mechanisms are driven by pan and tilt motors, one or both of which remain stationary with respect to the yoke. The variable light modifier can be used to deflect light beams generated by one or more light sources and can reflect the light from one or both reflective surfaces of the reflector.
