A review of hydrodynamic investigations into arrays of ocean wave energy converters
S. De Chowdhury,Jean-Roch Nader,A. Madrigal Sanchez,Alan Fleming,Brian Winship,S. Illesinghe,A. Toffoli,Alexander V. Babanin,Irene Penesis,Richard Manasseh +9 more
TL;DR: Theoretical, numerical and experimental studies on arrays of ocean wave energy converter are reviewed in this article, where the importance of extracting wave power via an array as opposed to individual wave-power machines has long been established.
Journal ArticleDOI
Application of photogrammetry for spatial free surface elevation and velocity measurement in wave flumes
TL;DR: In this article, a method for obtaining the spatial free surface elevation and velocity field for the water surface in a wave flume over a relatively large measurement area for this type of application is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Preliminary investigation on the use of tank wall reflections to model WEC array effects
TL;DR: In this article, a cylinder fixed in the center of a wave flume is used to simulate wave scattering, a component of the hydrodynamics of wave energy converters, and the stereo-videogrammetry method uses small buoyant wax particles so that the free surface can be mapped with software from LaVision.
Computation of power from an array of wave energy converters using a boundary element method
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compare the performance of NEMOH with the solution obtained by solving the boundary value problem exactly, and also compare the elapsed CPU time with increasing resolution in NEMO with increasing number of terms in eigenfunction expansion.
