TL;DR: The results suggest that the high positive correlation between pathogenicity of the trichomonad strains for mice and for patients reflects a causal relationship.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparative pathogenicity of Trichomonas vaginalis and Trichomonas gallinae to mice. II. Histopathology of subcutaneous lesions.
TL;DR: A histopathologic study has been conducted of subcutaneous lesions produced in C57B1/6J mice by various strains of Trichomonas vaginalis and T. gallinae and there appeared to be a close correlation between the volumes of the abcesses caused by the parasite strains in the experimental hosts and the degree of pathogenicity observed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of certain laboratory procedures on virulence of the Jones' Barn strain of Trichomonas gallinae for pigeons.
TL;DR: Freezing and maintenance of protozoan cultures at subzero temperatures were initiated in an attempt to avoid the chores and consequences of long-term in vitro cultivation, and in general, the results have been successful.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structure and morphogenesis of two new species of Hexamastix from lizards.
Journal ArticleDOI
Further Observations on the Effects of Various Laboratory Procedures on the Virulence of Trichomonas gallinae for Pigeons
TL;DR: Findings from the first report on the effects of various laboratory procedures on the virulence for pigeons of the Jones' Barn (JB) strain of Trichomonas gallinae (Rivolta) suggested undertaking additional investigations of the ways whereby different laboratory procedures might affect thevirulence of the JB strain.
