Journal ArticleDOI
Genetic addiction risk score (GARS) ™, a predictor of vulnerability to opioid dependence.
Kenneth Blum,Amanda L C Chen,Panayotis K. Thanos,Marcelo Febo,Zsolt Demetrovics,Kristina Dushaj,Abraham Kovoor,David Baron,David Smith,Alphonso Kenison Roy,Lyle Fried,Thomas J H Chen,Edwin Chapman,Edward J Modestino,Bruce Steinberg,Rajendra D Badgaiyan +15 more
TL;DR: The Genetic Addiction Risk Score (GARS) is examined, the first test to accurately predict vulnerability to pain, addiction, and other compulsive behaviors, defined as Reward Deficiency Syndrome (RDS).
Journal ArticleDOI
Potential language and attentional networks revealed through factor analysis of rCBF data measured with SPECT.
TL;DR: Changes in regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF) were used to disclose regions involved in central auditory and language processing in the normal brain and three factors appeared to represent statistical analogues of independent brain networks involved in auditory/linguistic, attentional, and visual imaging activity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hypothesizing That Neuropharmacological and Neuroimaging Studies of Glutaminergic-Dopaminergic Optimization Complex (KB220Z) Are Associated With “Dopamine Homeostasis” in Reward Deficiency Syndrome (RDS)
Kenneth Blum,Marcelo Febo,Lyle Fried,Mona Li,Kristina Dushaj,Eric R Braverman,Thomas J. McLaughlin,Bruce Steinberg,Rajendra D Badgaiyan +8 more
TL;DR: A Reward Deficiency Solution System (RDSS) that includes: Genetic Addiction Risk Score (GARS); Comprehensive Analysis of Reported Drugs (CARD); and a glutaminergic-dopaminergic optimization complex (Kb220Z) is proposed, which may potentially change the landscape of treating all addictions leading to the promised land.
Precision Behavioral Management (PBM): A Novel Genetically Guided Therapy to Combat Reward Deficiency Syndrome (RDS) Relevant to the Opiate Crisis
Kenneth Blum,Alphonse Kenison Roy,Arwen Podesta,Edward J Modestino,Bruce Steinberg,Marjorie C. Gondré-Lewis,David Baron,Panayotis K. Thanos,Lisa Lott,Sampada Badgaiyan,Jessica Valdez Ponce,Brent Boyett,David Siwicki,Mark Moran,Drew Edwards,Thomas McLaughlin,Eric R Braverman,Thomas Simpatico,Mary Hauser,Bernard W. Downs,Rajendra D Badgaiyan +20 more
The Benefits of Genetic Addiction Risk Score (GARS ™ ) Testing in Substance Use Disorder (SUD).
Kenneth Blum,Edward J Modestino,Marjorie C. Gondré-Lewis,Edwin Chapman,Jennifer Neary,David Siwicki,David Baron,Mary Hauser,David Smith,Alphonse Kenison Roy,Panayotis K. Thanos,Bruce Steinberg,Thomas J. McLaughlin,Lyle Fried,Debmalya Barh,Georgia A Dunston,Rajendra D. Badgaiyan +16 more
TL;DR: GARS is the only panel of genes with established polymorphisms reflecting the Brain Reward Cascade, which has been correlated with the ASI-MV alcohol and drug risk severity score, and provides clinicians with a non-invasive genetic test.
