TL;DR: In this article, a method and apparatus in which a base station selects a Modulation and Coding Selection (MCS) level in a wireless mobile communication system is provided, which includes: receiving channel condition information from a terminal, estimating a channel condition of the terminal based on the channel condition, determining a location of the node based on estimated channel condition and measuring intensities of signals that are periodically received from the node.
