A study by electrochemically modulated infrared reflectance spectroscopy of the electrosorption of formic acid at a platinum electrode

TL;DR: In this article, the authors compare the qualitative results given by EMIRS to the quantitative determination of the adsorbed layer, as obtained by conventional electrochemistry, and show that the so-called CO species, which are detected by EqS during the chemisorption of formic acid on a Pt electrode, are the dominant species over a large potential range during which the coverage reaches a maximum and constant value.
Journal ArticleDOI

Infrared study of adsorbed species on electrodes: Adsorption of carbon monoxide on Pt, Rh and Au

TL;DR: In this paper, the infrared spectra of adsorbed species at the solid/aqueous interface are reported, following the adsorption of CO on platinum, rhodium and gold electrodes using in situ electrochemically modulated IR spectroscopy.
