Journal ArticleDOI

The adsorption and incorporation of oxygen on Cu(100) and its reaction with carbon monoxide; Comparison with Cu(111) and Cu(110)

TL;DR: In this article, the initial interaction of oxygen with Cu(100) occurs in three stages, the first stage is the formation of a (√2 × √2)R45° LEED pattern up to a coverage of 0.5, which is converted with an apparent activation energy of 3.5 kcal/mol.
Journal ArticleDOI

Interaction of hydrogen with oxygen on Cu(111)

TL;DR: In this article, the kinetics of the interaction of hydrogen with oxygen adsorbed on Cu(111) up to 0.5 monolayer with ellipsometry were studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

The adsorption of carbon monoxide on Cu(110)-Ni surfaces prepared by dissociation of nickel carbonyl

TL;DR: In this paper, the adsorption of CO is reversible in the temperature region of 22-200°C and the pressure range of 5 × 10−8-0.7 Torr, as monitored with ellipsometry and AES.
Journal ArticleDOI

Preparation and characterization of Cu(111)-Ni and Cu(110)-Ni surface alloys

TL;DR: In this article, the interaction of Ni(CO)4/CO gas mixtures with Cu(111) and Cu(110) single crystal surfaces has been studied with ellipsometry.
Journal ArticleDOI

Preparation and reactivity of Cu(100)-Ni surfaces

TL;DR: In this paper, a method of preparing Cu(100)-Ni single crystal surfaces is described, where reproducible quantities of nickel are deposited on a clean Cu100 surface via reaction of nickel carbonyl, and the chemical properties of this surface are investigated with respect to oxygen uptake and reduction (CO) reactions.
