Journal ArticleDOI
Angiographic and clinical outcomes among patients with acute coronary syndromes presenting with isolated anterior ST-segment depression: a TRITON-TIMI 38 (Trial to Assess Improvement in Therapeutic Outcomes by Optimizing Platelet Inhibition With Prasugrel-Thrombolysis In Myocardial Infarction 38) substudy.
Yuri B. Pride,Patricia Tung,Satishkumar Mohanavelu,Cafer Zorkun,Stephen D. Wiviott,Elliott M. Antman,Robert P. Giugliano,Eugene Braunwald,C. Michael Gibson +8 more
TL;DR: Among ACS patients presenting with isolated anterior ST-segment depression, over one-quarter had an occluded culprit artery and elevated cardiac biomarkers, and these patients had significantly worse clinical outcomes, and few underwent urgent angiography.
Journal ArticleDOI
Use of the TIMI frame count in the assessment of coronary artery blood flow and microvascular function over the past 15 years
Vijayalakshmi Kunadian,Caitlin J. Harrigan,Cafer Zorkun,Alexandra M. Palmer,Katherine J. Ogando,Leah H. Biller,Erin E. Lord,Scott P. Williams,Michelle E. Lew,Lauren N. Ciaglo,Jacqueline L. Buros,Susan J. Marble,William J. Gibson,C. Michael Gibson +13 more
TL;DR: The evolution of the TFC method and its applicability in the assessment of various therapeutic modalities are described.
Journal ArticleDOI
Angiographic Outcomes in the PLATO Trial (Platelet Inhibition and Patient Outcomes)
Vijay Kunadian,Stefan James,Daniel Wojdyla,Cafer Zorkun,Jinhui Wu,Robert F. Storey,Ph. Gabriel Steg,Hugo A. Katus,Håkan Emanuelsson,Jay Horrow,Juan Maya,Lars Wallentin,Robert A. Harrington,C. Michael Gibson +13 more
TL;DR: Neither coronary flow nor myocardial perfusion, evaluated on coronary angiograms performed before or following PCI procedures within a few hours after the start of oral antiplatelet treatment in the setting of acute coronary syndromes, demonstrated a difference with ticagrelor versus clopidogrel.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of prasugrel versus clopidogrel on outcomes among patients with acute coronary syndrome undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention without stent implantation: a TRial to assess Improvement in Therapeutic Outcomes by optimizing platelet inhibitioN with prasugrel (TRITON)-Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction (TIMI) 38 substudy.
Yuri B. Pride,Stephen D. Wiviott,Jacqueline L. Buros,Cafer Zorkun,M. Umer Tariq,Elliott M. Antman,Eugene Braunwald,C. Michael Gibson +7 more
TL;DR: Among ACS patients who underwent PCI without stent implantation, prasugrel therapy tended to reduce clinical ischemic events and to increase bleeding events to a similar magnitude as among patients who received stents.
Journal ArticleDOI
Determinants of coronary collateral circulation in patients with coronary artery disease.
TL;DR: Male gender, prior statin usage, and higher hs-CRP levels are determinants of coronary collaterals in patients with coronary artery disease.
