The article presents the main theoretical frameworks as well as key concepts and themes that have characterized communitarianism in the course of Western thought. It discusses both commonalities and ideological differences between communitarian theories, since community is a concept that integrates ideas from different political positions.  The core of communitarian thought is the principle that the community is central to a good society. This principle is an important starting point for the formulation of a paradigm that goes beyond traditional dichotomies such as statism x privatism and public x private and favors a democratic and inclusive order as well as a balance between state, community and market. Comunidade e comunitarismo: considerações sobre a inovação da ordem sociopolítica

This essay considers the patterns of inter-subjective recognition - love, right and solidarity - in the book of Axel Honneth, Struggle for recognition: the moral grammar of social conflicts. In a short way, it presents the distinction of the three spheres or dimensions of recognition - that of the affections and the self-confidence; that of the laws and rights, of the self-respect; that of the self-esteem and social solidarity. It is remembered the theory of recognition of G.W.F. Hegel, first reference of the reflection of Honneth, and also those of G. Mead and D. Winnicott, to whom the author pay special attention. The aim is to suggest, in the critical and dialectical tradition, new lines to serve the researchers of work, leisure and educational relationships.

Tempo livre e humanização: dúvidas e esperanças ante as novas possibilidades de lazer

Since the 1988 Constitution postulated representative democracy in Brazil, citizen participation has not been exclusive to the electoral period, when citizens choose their representatives in the different legislative bodies of the government - federal, state and municipal. Although from then on, popular sovereignty could be exercised in a direct and/or participative way with interactions with different legislative, executive and bureaucratic bodies at different levels of government,  in 2016 the political Brazilian context changed substantially putting the 1988 constitutional precepts on hold and leaving the possibility of democratic managerial practices in suspension. The main goal of this article is to contextualize the emergence of the concept of social management in Brazil and to verify to what extent it can help or prevent the practice of an actual management that is committed to the demands from the society.

I present Kracauer's original critical analysis of aesthetic modernity, and discuss the theoretical and aesthetic affinities between Kracauer and Walter Benjamin in their analyses of Paris during the second half of the Twentieth Century; the Second Empire as the original embodiment of mass society, with its cultural and entertaining industries; and, above all, the emergence of fascism and National Socialism. During his Parisian exile (1933-1941), Kracauer wrote a "social biography": Orpheus in Paris: Offenbach and the Paris of His Time (New York, 1938), an innovative work with many affinity points with Walter Benjamin's The Work of the Arcades, or Paris as the Capital of the XIXth Century.

The transformations of the Brazilian religious field focus on other fields of social life. Besides the public sphere, that passes to experience demonstrations and more plural contacts, private spaces and households also feel the impact of this movement. Thus, not only the religious field changes, but their religious practices and relationships between people of different religious affiliations are changed. Starting from these considerations, this article presents some reflections originated from research conducted in the city of Bora, interior of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Known as the smallest Brazilian city in terms of population, Bora has unique characteristics in its formation. Relations between boraenses are parental or are very close. Families who first arrived in the region had a community structure with Catholic characteristics present today. With the recent changes that affect the social and economic field, adding to the growth of Protestant churches in the city, Bora provides a contemporary portrait of the internal changes of the Brazilian religious field, and how the notions of family and community are present as mediators in this new context.
