Journal ArticleDOI
The effect of the solute on the structure, selected mechanical properties, and biocompatibility of Ti–Zr system alloys for dental applications
Diego Rafael Nespeque Correa,Fábio Bossoi Vicente,Tatiani Ayako Goto Donato,Victor E. Arana-Chavez,Marília Afonso Rabelo Buzalaf,Carlos Roberto Grandini +5 more
TL;DR: The elasticity modulus of the alloys was sensitive to the zirconium concentrations while remaining within the range of values of conventional titanium alloys.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development of binary and ternary titanium alloys for dental implants
Jairo M. Cordeiro,Thamara Beline,A.L.R. Ribeiro,Elidiane Cipriano Rangel,Nilson Cristino da Cruz,Richard Landers,Leonardo Perez Faverani,Luis Geraldo Vaz,Laiza Maria Grassi Fais,Fábio Bossoi Vicente,Carlos Roberto Grandini,Mathew T. Mathew,Cortino Sukotjo,Valentim Adelino Ricardo Barão +13 more
TL;DR: The alloying elements proved to modify the alloy microstructure and to enhance the mechanical properties, improving the hardness and decreasing the elastic modulus of the binary and ternary alloys, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI
Corrosion behavior of Ti–13Nb–13Zr alloy used as a biomaterial
Terlize Cristina Niemeyer,Carlos Roberto Grandini,Leandro M. C. Pinto,A. C. D. Angelo,S.G. Schneider +4 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the corrosion and electrochemical behavior of the Ti-13Nb-13Zr (TNZ) alloy was studied in a PBS solution, and the results showed that, with the oxygen load, there is a significant reduction of the anodic current in almost the whole potential spam.
Journal ArticleDOI
Preparation and Characterization of Ti-15Mo Alloy used as Biomaterial
José Roberto Severino Martins Júnior,Renata Abdallah Nogueira,Raul Oliveira de Araújo,Tatiani Ayako Goto Donato,Vitor Elias Arana-Chavez,Ana Paula Rosifini Alves Claro,João Carlos Silos Moraes,Marília Afonso Rabelo Buzalaf,Carlos Roberto Grandini +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the Ti-15Mo alloy was produced using an arc-melting furnace and then characterized by density, X-ray diffraction, optical microscopy, hardness and dynamic elasticity modulus measurements, and cytotoxicity tests.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cytotoxicity study of some Ti alloys used as biomaterial
Tatiani Ayako Goto Donato,Luciano Henrique de Almeida,Renata Abdallah Nogueira,Terlize Cristina Niemeyer,Carlos Roberto Grandini,Rubens Caram,S.G. Schneider,Arnaldo R. Santos +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the in vitro cytotoxicity of two Ti-based alloys, Ti-13Nb-13Zr and Ti-35Nb−7Zr−5Ta, was evaluated in the as-received condition and after heat treated.
