A minimum Z height handheld electronic device and methods of assembly is described. The electronic device includes a single seamless housing having a front opening and a cover disposed within the front opening and attached to the seamless housing without a bezel.

An electronic device (1904) includes a first means (1911) for entering characters coupled to the device for generating a second character input data, where the second means (1906) for entering characters includes a system for monitoring a user's voice. A display (1905) displays the character thereon. A processor (not shown) is coupled to the first (1911) and second means (1906) for entering characters configured to receive the first and second character input data such that the characters displayed on the display (1905) corresponds to both the first and second character input data.

Systems to enhance data entry in mobile and fixed environment

A multiple monitor apparatus in the form or a laptop PC, a desktop monitor, a mobile device, and the like. In dual screen mode, the additional monitor is typically presented displaying different content and centered to the user. In single screen mode, the additional display enclosures are retracted and stored in such a manner that they do not present themselves to the user. A guiderail assembly is used to center both display enclosures relative to the user. The guiderail assembly may be motorized or manually effected and may be located above or below the primary enclosure hinge. The secondary enclosure may be extended and retracted from the primary enclosure by the use of slider arms. The secondary enclosure may also be hinged to the primary enclosure, utilize pegs, ride on its own guiderail, and detach from the primary enclosure or the apparatus. Independent guiderails may also be employed to center two or more displays relative to a user. In one embodiment, the monitor may be rotated from landscape to portrait view.

Multiple Monitor Display Apparatus

Described is a multiple display computing device, including technology for automatically selecting among various operating modes so as to display content on the displays based upon their relative positions. For example concave modes correspond to inwardly facing viewing surfaces of both displays, such as for viewing private content from a single viewpoint. Convex modes have outwardly facing outwardly surfaces, such that private content is shown on one display and public content on another. Neutral modes are those in which the viewing surfaces of the displays are generally on a common plane, for single user or multiple user/collaborative viewing depending on each display's output orientation. The displays may be movably coupled to one another, or may be implemented as two detachable computer systems coupled by a network connection.

Multiple display computing device with position-based operating modes

A dual screen presentation notebook having components that are integrally connected together to allow easy viewing of presentation materials without the users having to sit side by side craning their necks close together facing the same direction but instead can face opposite one another. When the dual screen presentation notebook is switched on, users can either (i) view identical or mirror images of the presentation materials or (ii) different images on the two monitor screens. The dual screen presentation notebook can be easily converted into a tablet computer and can also be used for other applications such as viewing electronic book, electronic photograph and images, videos, movies, etc.

A computer system includes an interactive screen display and a base computer. The interactive screen display includes a display module with a transceiver and display screen in communication with each other. The base computer is in communication with the display screen through the transceiver. The display screen displays graphics in response to the transceiver receiving a first signal from the base computer. The graphics displayed in response to the first signal corresponds to graphics displayed with the base computer. The base computer displays graphics in response to receiving a second signal from the transceiver. The second signal is provided by the transceiver in response to information being inputted with the interactive screen display.
