Considering the need to consider the specificities of students in their learning process, systems of educational recommendations (SRE) can be used in this process, suggesting materials that support the construction of students' knowledge, considering their interests and needs. In this context, this paper aims to identify the current state of research on SRE in Brazil, by performing a systematic mapping of literature. The research had the analysis of studies published in the last five years in the main scientific vehicles of Informatics in Education in the country: SBIE, WIE and RBIE. The reported results refer to the historical evolution of the publications about SRE in Brazil, the institutions involved in the research, the target public, recommended resources, the most used recommendation techniques, as well as the evaluation of these systems. Resumo. Tendo em vista a necessidade de considerar as especificidades dos estudantes em seu processo de aprendizagem, sistemas de recomendações educacionais (SRE) podem ser usados nesse processo, sugerindo materiais que apoiem a construção do conhecimento dos educandos, considerando seus interesses e necessidades. Neste contexto, este trabalho visa identificar o estado atual da pesquisa sobre SRE no Brasil, pela realização de um mapeamento sistemático de literatura. A pesquisa contou com a análise de estudos publicados nos últimos cinco anos nos principais veículos científicos de Informática na Educação no país: SBIE, WIE e RBIE. Os resultados reportados dizem respeito à evolução histórico das publicações sobre SRE no Brasil, as instituições envolvidas nas pesquisas, o público-alvo, os recursos recomendados, as técnicas de recomendação mais utilizadas, como também sobre a avaliação desses sistemas.

Mapeamento Sistemático sobre Sistemas de Recomendações Educacionais

The permanence and success of students in computer-related courses has a direct impact on the job market. Evasion is one of the obstacles in computing, thus corroborating the absence of qualified professionals in the face of high Brazilian demand. This paper aims to analyze motivations for students to enter and stay in computerrelated courses, both at the technical and higher levels in a public educational institution. To this end, questionnaires were applied to incoming students and to complete their respective courses in 2019. The study presents a quantitative analysis related to objective questions, in order to contribute to the evaluation and verification of the profile of students in the area, career prospects, and acting in computing, as well as reflections on academia in vocational training.

Permanência e Êxito em Cursos de Computação: Uma Análise Quantitativa em Nível Técnico e Superior

Ha um crescente corpo de literatura no campo dos sistemas de recomendacao que focam na melhoria da precisao. No entanto, e necessario pensar na forma de apresentar recomendacoes, a fim de fazer com que os usuarios entendam os motivos pelos quais estas foram geradas, bem como apresentar a recomendacao na interface de maneira satisfatoria. Em ambientes educacionais isso se torna ainda mais importante, visto que pode influenciar no processo de ensino e aprendizagem. Desta forma, este trabalho investigou como a comunidade de inform´atica na educacao tem projetado a apresentacao das recomendacoes. Como resultado, percebe-se que o tema ainda e pouco explorado e que o foco dos projetos de sistema de recomendacao educacionais permanece no algoritmo recomendador.

Apresentação de Recomendações em Ambientes Educacionais

Sistemas de Recomendação buscam identificar itens relevantes para seus usuários. Um dos temas recentes na área de Sistemas de Recomendação são as questões sobre diversidade. Ao considerar aspectos para aumentar a diversidade tenta-se evitar a priorização de algumas das preferências do usuário ou ainda a recomendação de itens muito similares entre si. Este trabalho apresenta a implementação de um modelo de pós-processamento aplicado a um Sistema de Recomendação de artigos, visando a promoção da diversidade das recomendações. O sistema foi utilizado por 56 usuários de diferentes instituições, sendo a diversidade e a precisão avaliadas por métricas. O pósprocessamento aumentou a diversidade mantendo a precisão.

Estratégia de Pós-processamento Aplicada a um Sistema de Recomendação de Artigos para a Melhora da Diversidade

AbstractThe adoption of a recommender system depends mostly on the accuracy of the computation of the rating predictions from the users. The user rating prediction accuracy has been a main topic in recent research. Collaborative filtering is one of the most prevalent algorithms for rating prediction, where ratings from close users, Near Neighbours, are used for the prediction of item ratings. For the collaborating filtering algorithm implementation, researchers utilise a large set of parameters, such as the number of close users and user proximity calculation metrics, to automatically determine these users, resulting in time-consuming decision conflicts over the most appropriate selections. This paper explores an approach that enables scientists to make informed selections for the metrics, parameters, and setups, using a prototype user interface with preloaded tools for the scientist to explore close users and attributes. The end users may create simulations to gain insight into the rating prediction process. Anchoring Effect Mitigation for Complex Recommender System Design

Currently, the amount of information available to Web users is very large, and this situation is similar for scientific communities when searching for papers for their research. Recommender Systems (RSs) can help in this task because they combine computational techniques to select personalized items based on the users’ interests and according to the context in which users are inserted. The increase in the impact and scope of recommendations in the users’ lives, leads to the result on the ethical issues involved in the generation of recommendations and indicators for visualizing the results of the algorithms found. This paper presents a Recommender System for the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) community, indicating papers from the Brazilian Symposium on Human Factors in Computing Systems related to the users’ profile applied to a post-processing strategy focused on fairness to balance the users’ interests. After the development of the RS and the Web environment, the results were obtained on the impact that the tool had on the community and demonstrated through the evaluation of the system.

Applying a post-processing strategy to consider the multiple interests of users of a Paper Recommender System

Recommender systems use information about the user to generate a set of personalized items as a suggestion and are applied in contexts where it exists an overload of content available to the user. The way these recommendations are viewed is now the focus of recent studies based on the need to improve the user experience with recommender systems. This paper presents a Systematic Mapping Study aiming to identify the best ways to present recommendations to users. A total of 434 papers were identified, of which 27 were selected for further analysis. The results point to a tendency towards self-explanatory and interactive interfaces.

Quais as Melhores Maneiras de Apresentar as Recomendações para os Usuários? Um Mapeamento Sistemático da Literatura

A disciplina introdutoria de algoritmo e logica de programacao (ALP) esta presente em diversos cursos de graduacao, como os relacionados a Ciencia da Computacao, Engenharias, Matematica, Fisica, etc. Porem, ainda hoje ha grande dificuldade no aprendizado desta disciplina, visto a necessidade de raciocinio logico e abstrato, e as diferencas entre os cursos a ela relacionados. Em busca de entender as necessidades dos diferentes cursos em que a disciplina e trabalhada, este trabalho aplicou um questionario com diferentes professores de todo Brasil (n=151). Os resultados sugerem que existem necessidades diferentes para cada curso, mas que as mesmas abordagens para os diferentes cursos sao utilizadas.
