Robust MAC-lite and soft header recovery for packetized multimedia transmission
TL;DR: In this article, an enhanced permeable layer mechanism is proposed for packet header recovery at various protocol layers using MAP estimation, where the inherently available intra-layer and inter-layer header correlation proves to be very effective in selecting a reduced set of possible header configurations for further processing.

Recovery of transmission errors
TL;DR: In this article, a method for recovering transmission errors, comprising of receiving a data packet comprising an error detection code associated to data contained in the packet, wherein the data associated to the error detecting code comprises primary data and secondary data, checking the error detection codes of the received packet to detect an erroneous state of the associated data, when the erroneous state is detected, determining a finite set of candidate values for the primary data, and, for each values of the set: determining a marginal likelihood of the candidate value as a function of the ECD code, determining first correlation between the primary

Process for delivering a video stream over a wireless bidirectional channel between a video encoder and a video decoder
Yann Leprovost,Cedric Marin +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a video stream over a bidirectional wireless channel between a video encoder and a video decoder is encoded by determining predictions (M) for defined partitions of the video frames, a prediction being based on at least one reference area of a reference frame of video stream; one motion vector associated to said reference area; and a weighting factor associated to the reference area, wherein the difference between partition and corresponding predicted partition is done to establish a partition residual.

Robust header recovery based enhanced permeable protocol layer mechanism
TL;DR: An enhanced permeable layer mechanism useful for reliable packetized multimedia transmission and simulation results for a WiFi transmission scheme using DBPSK modulated signals over an AWGN channel show a substantial link budget improvement.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Robust Video Decoding through Simultaneous Usage of Residual Source Information and MAC Layer CRC Redundancy
TL;DR: This paper presents a MAP estimation method of CAVLC encoded sequences for robust decoding of H.264/AVC video stream and introduces a sub-optimal but hardware realizable version of the proposed algorithm.
