PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering control device for a vehicle capable of simulating the steering reaction force for the portion corresponding to a turbulence accurately in calculating the steering reaction force command value even if the steering side control has a strong stability against the turbulence and little difference is generated between the target steering angle and the actual steering angle. SOLUTION: The steering control device for the vehicle is embodied on the steer-by-wire system free of a mechanical bond between a steering reaction force device 3 having a steering wheel 1 and an actuator 2 for the steering reaction force and a steering device 7 having steered wheels 4 and 5 and is equipped with a controller 10 for the steering reaction force device to calculate the steering reaction force command value to the actuator 2 for the steering reaction force by adding the equivalent to the turbulence to the portion corresponding to the input/output, wherein the controller 10 for the steering reaction force device is formed as a means to make the turbulence presumptive value presumed by the use of a robust compensator 18b adopted in the steering angle control a turbulence equivalent and feeds back only the presumed turbulence equivalent from the steering side to the reaction force side. Steering control device for vehicle

A rotation transmission device is mounted in a drive train of a four-wheel drive vehicle to selectively distribute driving force to selected vehicle wheels according to the travel condition of the vehicle. This device includes an outer ring and an input shaft. A cylindrical face is formed on one of the opposed surfaces of the outer ring and the input shaft, while cam faces are formed on the other opposed surface to define a wedge-shaped space between the cylindrical face and each cam face. Rollers are mounted in pockets formed in a retainer mounted between the input shaft and the outer ring. An electromagnetic clutch is coupled to the retainer. A switch spring is mounted between the retainer and the input shaft. A two-way clutch is provided between the outer ring and the input shaft. A control unit controls the two-way clutch by adjusting the amount of current fed through a coil of the electromagnetic clutch according to the travel condition of the vehicle, thus selectively distributing driving force to selected vehicle wheels. A method of controlling the rotation transmission device is also proposed. Also, another transmission device is proposed which is mounted in the transfer of a vehicle.

A steering apparatus for a two-wheeled motor vehicle includes a handlebars-side steering shaft supported by a head pipe, a wheel supporting cylindrical shaft supported by a front axle and over which a hub is fitted, and a steering link mechanism. First and second link members of the link mechanism are connected to each other in a plurality of articulations such that the link members can angularly move. An amount of angular movement is limited to a predetermined range, and a distance between a front wheel-side end and the steering shaft-side end of the steering link mechanism can be changed. The front wheel-side end of the steering link mechanism is connected to the wheel supporting cylindrical shaft through a brake caliper bracket member.

In a vehicle steering device and control method, a selectively engageable clutch is positioned between a steering wheel and a turning mechanism for turning at least one wheel. The clutch has an engaged position where the steering wheel is mechanically connected to the turning mechanism and a disengaged position where the steering wheel is mechanically separated from the turning mechanism for steer-by-wire control. During steer-by-wire control, a reaction force actuator applies a force to the steering wheel, and a turning actuator applies a torque to the turning mechanism. To prevent erroneous clutch engagement caused by an increase in relative angular acceleration between the steering angle and the turning angle, a controller detects an operating condition corresponding to a risk of erroneous clutch engagement and controls at least one of the turning actuator and the reaction force actuator to reduce the relative angular acceleration.
