Journal Article
Perinatal complications in children with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder and their unaffected siblings
Leila Ben Amor,Natalie Grizenko,George Schwartz,Philippe Lageix,Chantal Baron,Marina Ter-Stepanian,Michael Zappitelli,Valentin Mbekou,Ridha Joober +8 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that neonatal complications are probably a nonshared environmental risk factor that may be pathogenic in children with ADHD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Actigraphic monitoring during sleep of children with ADHD on methylphenidate and placebo.
George Schwartz,Leila Ben Amor,Natalie Grizenko,Philippe Lageix,Chantal Baron,Diane B. Boivin,Ridha Joober +6 more
TL;DR: Investigating the relationship of activity levels during sleep and therapeutic response to methylphenidate suggests that responders to MPH treatment do not experience greater sleep disturbances than nonresponders, at at the dose studied.
Journal ArticleDOI
Catechol-O-Methyltransferase (COMT) Val 108/158 Met polymorphism does not modulate executive function in children with ADHD
Evan Taerk,Natalie Grizenko,Leila Ben Amor,Philippe Lageix,Valentin Mbekou,Rosherie Deguzman,Adam Torkamanzehi,Marina Ter Stepanian,Chantal Baron,Ridha Joober +9 more
TL;DR: Contrary to the observed association between WCST performance and the Val108/158Met polymorphism of the COMT gene in both healthy and schizophrenic adults, this polymorphism does not appear to modulate executive functions in children with ADHD.
Sensitivity of Tests to Assess Improvement In ADHD Symptomatology
Natalie Grizenko,Martin Lachance,Vincent Collard,Philippe Lageix,Chantal Baron,Leila Ben Amor,Marina Ter Stepanian,Valentin Mbekou,George Schwartz,Johanne Bellingham,Ridha Joober +10 more
TL;DR: Acute behavioural response measures were overall more reliable than parent reports in detecting improvement on ADHD symptomatology and teacher reports were also very important, especially in the 9 to 12 year old group.
Journal ArticleDOI
Factor structure of the restricted academic situation scale: implications for ADHD.
Sherif Karama,Leila Ben Amor,Natalie Grizenko,Antonio Ciampi,Valentin Mbekou,Marina Ter-Stepanian,Philippe Lageix,Chantal Baron,George Schwartz,Ridha Joober +9 more
TL;DR: Only TD was inversely correlated with age, indicating that TD and MA may be differentially modulated during development, and it may be important to consider them separately when conducting studies on ADHD.
