Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to investigate the role of cultural intelligence in MBA curricula. Shaping global corporate culture that manifests itself in powerful‐shared values, group behavior, and persists despite changes in‐group membership is decisive to organizational performance. Cultural intelligence (CQ) in MBA curricula

Expatriation for work presents various challenges before departure, during expatriation, and upon return to one’s home country. These challenges are why learning to manage cultural differences is a vital skill for expatriate managers and professionals, and hiring managers. Cultural intelligence (CQ) has been the subject of much research over the last decade. The present systematic review contributes to the literature on expatriate worker CQ by collecting and analyzing 97 empirical articles on the subject. Findings point to five core elements associated with CQ and five avenues for future research. Ultimately, the study results show that CQ positively affects many outcomes during expatriation.

Global leaders must be able to embrace complexity with creativity and integrity to meet the adaptive challenges of work and relationships in the contemporary world. Successful response to challenges involves a transformational process. This research addresses the scarcity of quantitative longitudinal research on conditions that may initiate or enhance developmental movement by examining the impact of international service experiences on adult development in the domains of moral reasoning (MR) and cultural intelligence (CQ). Data on MR level were collected using the Defining Issues Tests prior to and following short-term international voluntary service projects. CQ data were collected using the CQ Questionnaire. Research findings are reported and implications for future research, as well as implications for refining design and assessment of international service experiences as venues for developing leadership competencies are discussed.
