Supported propene polymerization catalysts, 1. Supports derived from magnesium dialkyl‐sterically hindered aromatic ester complexes

TL;DR: In this article, a support is precipitated by reacting a hexane solution of the Mg dialkyl complex with SiCl 4 and then activated by treatment with TiCl4 and diisobutylphthalate in chlorobenzene.

Supported propene polymerization catalysts, 2. Supports derived from dialkylmagnesium/dibutyl butylphosphonate complexes

TL;DR: In this paper, a support derived from Mg dialkyl complexes with the rare and very expensive ethyl esters of 2,6-dimethyl- (1) or 2,4-6-trimethylbenzoic acid (2) was found to produce catalysts with comparable activity, improved, narrower particle size distribution, and only slightly lower stereospecificity relative to catalysts made using MgR2 adducts with 1 or 2 as starting materials.
