How do fundamental emotion beliefs affect the rapid emotional processing? An ERP study.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors used event-related potential (ERP) measures to examine the time course and neural mechanisms by which emotional beliefs influence the processing of emotional pictures and found that fundamental emotion beliefs can affect individuals' early attention and late meaning evaluation towards unpleasant stimuli.

Expectation modulates the preferential processing of task-irrelevant fear in the attentional blink: evidence from event-related potentials

TL;DR: In this article , the role of expectation when processing fear in an attentional blink task was examined, and it was found that expectation can suppress the processing of task-irrelevant facial expression and unexpected fearful expression can break through this suppression.
