Journal ArticleDOI
Rapid virological response and treatment duration for chronic hepatitis C genotype 1 patients: a randomized trial.
Ming-Lung Yu,Chia-Yen Dai,Jee-Fu Huang,Chang-Fu Chiu,Yi-Hsin Yang,Nai-Jen Hou,Li-Po Lee,Ming-Yen Hsieh,Zu-Yau Lin,Shinn-Cherng Chen,Ming-Yuh Hsieh,Liang-Yen Wang,Wen-Yu Chang,Wan-Long Chuang +13 more
TL;DR: HCV‐1 patients derive a significantly better SVR from 48 weeks versus 24 weeks of peginterferon/ribavirin even if they attain an RVR, according to the primary endpoint of a sustained virological response.
Journal ArticleDOI
A randomised study of peginterferon and ribavirin for 16 versus 24 weeks in patients with genotype 2 chronic hepatitis C
Ming-Lung Yu,Chia-Yen Dai,Jee-Fu Huang,Nai-Jen Hou,Li-Po Lee,Ming-Yen Hsieh,Chang-Fu Chiu,Zu-Yau Lin,Shinn-Cherng Chen,Ming-Yuh Hsieh,Liang-Yen Wang,Wen-Yu Chang,Wan-Long Chuang +12 more
TL;DR: 16 weeks and 24 weeks of peginterferon treatment with weight-based ribavirin at a dose of 1000–1200 mg/day provided equal efficacy in patients with HCV2 who achieved RVR at 4 weeks and Multivariate analysis showed that RVR and age were independent factors associated with SVR.
Journal ArticleDOI
OxLDL up-regulates microRNA-29b, leading to epigenetic modifications of MMP-2/MMP-9 genes: a novel mechanism for cardiovascular diseases
Ku Chung Chen,Yung Song Wang,Ching Yu Hu,Wei Chiao Chang,Yi-Chu Liao,Chia-Yen Dai,Suh-Hang Hank Juo +6 more
TL;DR: It is found that oxLDL can up‐regulate miR‐29b expression' resulting in DNMT3b down‐regulation in HASMCs and epigenetically regulated MMP‐2/MMP‐9 genes involved in cell migration.
Journal ArticleDOI
Role of interleukin‐28B polymorphisms in the treatment of hepatitis C virus genotype 2 infection in Asian patients
Ming-Lung Yu,Chung-Feng Huang,Jee-Fu Huang,Ning-Chia Chang,Jeng-Fu Yang,Zu-Yau Lin,Shinn-Cherng Chen,Ming-Yuh Hsieh,Liang-Yen Wang,Wen-Yu Chang,Yi-Ning Li,Mei Shin Wu,Chia-Yen Dai,Suh-Hang Hank Juo,Wan-Long Chuang +14 more
TL;DR: The rs8099917 TT genotype is significantly independently predictive of RVR, which is the single best predictor of SVR, in Asian HCV‐2 patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
A sustained virological response to interferon or interferon/ribavirin reduces hepatocellular carcinoma and improves survival in chronic hepatitis C: a nationwide, multicentre study in Taiwan.
Ming-Lung Yu,Shi-Ming Lin,Wan-Long Chuang,Chia-Yen Dai,Jing-Houng Wang,Sheng-Nan Lu,I-Shyan Sheen,Wen-Yu Chang,Chuan-Mo Lee,Yun-Fan Liaw +9 more
TL;DR: A sustained virological response secondary to IFN monotherapy or IFN/RBV combination therapy could reduce the risk for HCC and improve survival of CHC patients.
