This invention relates to a method of distributing documents have a directed relationship within an information processing system. The documents in the directed relationship have a one-to-one relationship. An end user indicates to the system an identification of at least one document in the directed relationship which is to be distributed to one or more recipient end user. The end user also enters system addresses of the recipient end users. The system then builds the necessary structures to transmit the document in the directed relationship to the identified recipient end users such that the directed relationship is maintained.

Method of distributing related documents to identified end users in an information processing system

A control unit controls an image searching system which performs a high quality search for a desired image in an image database by using color information. A sample image determined by an operator is used as a key to the search, and is input to a sample image input unit. A sample color information extraction unit extracts HSV color space data from the sample image, and an image color information extraction unit extracts HSV color image data from a plurality of images stored in the image database. A contribution factors deciding unit decides a contribution factor for each component in the HSV color space, and a candidate image deciding unit calculates a similarity between the plurality of images stored in the database and the sample image. Image candidates are determined based on the calculated similarity, and the image candidates are displayed on a display unit. The desired image is then selected from the displayed image candidates.

Image searching method and apparatus thereof using color information of an input image

An electronic data filing apparatus is disclosed, which includes a unit for displaying an index image for retrieval of data stored in a data storing medium, a unit for storing relative data representing a relation between the data and the index image, a unit for selecting at least one index image from a plurality of index images displayed on the displaying unit, a unit for selecting at least one index image from a plurality of index images displayed on the displaying unit, and a unit for executing retrieval of data according to index image selected by the selecting unit and relative data stored in the storing unit. When a plurality of index images are selected by the selecting unit the retrieval means executes retrieval of data with a combination of relative data corresponding to individual selected index images.

Electronic filing apparatus

A filing method and apparatus for an electronic filing apparatus. The method includes the steps of reading out index images from an index image storage and displaying the read-out index images on a display having a plurality of display locations. Each of the index images is an image representative of index information used for retrieving image information to be stored in a storage medium and capable of being used as index information for a plurality of image information. Desired index images are selected from among the plurality of index images displayed at the plurality of display locations and the image information to be stored in the storage medium is input and stored in a vacant area of the storage medium. An index file is formed indicating a relationship between the index images selected and a storage address of the image information stored in the storage medium.

Electronic filing method and apparatus

Terminal equipment for electronically making patent and utility patent applications. The terminal equipment converts various formats of text data generated by an external device into the internal format of the terminal equipment, retrieves the converted text data, merges the text data with a procedure, and transmits the procedure. The merging operation in which image data is merged with text data is simplified whereby the operator can make applications with a simple operation without special skill and knowledge when an application document is transmitted and received on line. Terminal equipment for merging imaging data and text data, and transmitting and receiving the same on-line

PURPOSE:To easily store and retrieve a document image by not only giving a keyword to the document image but also automatically giving a keyword based on the image. CONSTITUTION:The document inputted by an image input means 11 is displayed on an image display means 13. A keyword is inputted by a command input means 12 to file the document in a document image filing means 14, and the document is reduced by a document image reducing means 15 and is filed as an index image in an index image filing means 16. A table where the document image file and the index image file are allowed to correspond to each other is stored in a table means 17. A file retrieval command is inputted by the input means 12 and the keyword of an objective document image is inputted to display the list of index images on the image display means 13, and a corresponding document image stored in the document image filing means 14 is displayed on the display means 13.

Document image electronic filing device

PURPOSE: To make it possible to collect and control documents making an assemblage of documents a unit by providing an input means, a display means, a document filing means, a document group tabling means and a CPU and storing assemblage of documents and relation of constituting documents. CONSTITUTION: A document group registration command is inputted from an input means 11, and documents to be registered as a document group from a document list displayed in a display means 13 are stored in a designated document group tabling means 15. When making editing process such as character replacing on the assemblage of documents, editing process is made on a document presently accessed, and when it is desired to make similar editing process on related documents referring to the document, a CPU 14 refers to the tabling means 15, and related documents are called automatically and edited. Thus, by registering plural documents related to the document group tabling means, similar editing process can be made simply without retrieving and calling documents one by one.
