Windbreak protection for road vehicles against crosswind

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used wind tunnel experiments and a Large Eddy Simulation (LES) model to investigate the protective effect of porous windbreak on road vehicles against crosswind. But the simulation results of the wake flows behind porous windbreaks were verified by the results of wind tunnel experiment.
Journal ArticleDOI

A two-way coupled simulation of moving solids in free-surface flows

TL;DR: In this paper, a two-way dynamic coupled numerical model was developed to simulate moving solids in free surface flows, where the fluid flows and hydrodynamic pressures were simulated by a Large Eddy Simulation model, and the free surface was tracked by the VOF method.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dynamic coupling of multi-phase fluids with a moving obstacle

TL;DR: A two-way coupled moving solid algorithm with discrete element method (DEM) to simulate dynamic fluid-solid interaction that allows obstacles moving in the multi-phase fluids to generate realistic motion for both the fluids and obstacles.
Journal ArticleDOI

The 1:20 scaled hydraulic model test and field experiment of barge-type floating offshore wind turbine system

TL;DR: In this paper , a barge-type floating offshore wind turbine (FOWT) was developed to face extreme environmental conditions in western Taiwan offshore water area, and a 1/20 scale model of the FOWT prototype was used by conducting hydraulic model tests in the large flume (300m × 5m× 5m) at Tainan Hydraulics Laboratory, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) and field experiments at the Anping Harbor.
