The objective of this paper is to give a comprehensive introduction to applied cryptography with an engineer or computer scientist in mind. The emphasis is on the knowledge needed to create practical systems which supports integrity, confidentiality, or authenticity. Topics covered includes an introduction to the concepts in cryptography, attacks against cryptographic systems, key use and handling, random bit generation, encryption modes, and message authentication codes. Recommendations on algorithms and further reading is given in the end of the paper. This paper should make the reader able to build, understand and evaluate system descriptions and designs based on the cryptographic components described in the paper.

Current research on Internet of Things (IoT) security: A survey

The lack of a functional vascular supply has, to a large extent, hampered the whole range of clinical applications of 'successful' laboratory-based bone tissue engineering strategies. To the present, grafts have been dependent on post-implant vascularization, which jeopardizes graft integration and often leads to its failure. For this reason, the development of strategies that could effectively induce the establishment of a microcirculation in the engineered constructs has become a major goal for the tissue engineering research community. This review addresses the role and importance of the development of a vascular network in bone tissue engineering and provides an overview of the most up to date research efforts to develop such a network.

Vascularization in Bone Tissue Engineering: Physiology, Current Strategies, Major Hurdles and Future Challenges

Long-term viability of thick three-dimensional engineered tissue constructs is a major challenge. Addressing it requires development of vessel-like network that will allow the survival of the construct in vitro and its integration in vivo owing to improved vascularization after implantation. Resulting from work of various research groups, several approaches were developed aiming engineered tissue vascularization: (1) embodiment of angiogenesis growth factors in the polymeric scaffolds for prolonged release, (2) coculture of endothelial cells with target tissue cells and angiogenesis signaling cells, (3) use of microfabrication methods for creating designed channels for allowing nutrients to flow and/or for directing endothelial cells attachment, and (4) decellularization of organs and blood vessels for creating extracellular matrix. A synergistic effect is expected by combining several of these approaches as already demonstrated in some of the latest studies. Current paper reviews the progress in each approach and recent achievements toward vascularization of engineered tissues.

In this paper, we propose a practical and secure anonymous Internet voting protocol. This method integrates Internet reality and cryptology. Issues such as the kinds of "certificate authority" and " public proxy server" are integrated in our scheme to solve the Internet identification and anonymity problems. To combine and make u p a series of ElGamal blind signature and secret sharing cryptosystem, this protocol can be applied to a secure, practical, and fa ir voting system.

The advancement of public-key cryptography in recent years has offered strong background support for the invention of numerous new system applications vastly employed in electronic business as well as other fields. However, that does not change the fact that the one-and-only Internet still remains open and unprotected. Therefore, for the sake of information security, confirming the legality of an entity’s public key is always critical. Typically, a key authentication scheme needs one or more authorities to authenticate keys. To make a difference, in this study, we have developed a new key authentication scheme using generalized discrete logarithm problem and integer factorization problem for cryptosystems. Although the new scheme works pretty much the same way as regular certificate-based techniques, it differs in that it needs no authority. Taking the password/secret key pair as the certificate of public key for an entity, the new key authentication technique is very simple but profoundly secure.

Over the past several years, several high profile cases involving intellectual property copyright violations have brought the issue of digital content protection to the forefront of public attention. In most business enterprises, teamwork project members are dynamically organized into a group from which they can then retrieve relevant documents by participating in discussion. In this paper, we propose an efficient group-based authorized DRM system to solve this problem. We present efficient digital content protection and practical management architecture for use in business applications. Public key cryptosystems, symmetric cryptosystems, secret sharing mechanisms, one-way hash functions, and digital signatures are integrated into our scheme. Any business enterprise can thus use our system to limit access to only those with proper authorization. Moreover, persistent protection, integrity, authentication, tracking usage of DRM work, portability, and practicability are assured. Our scheme lends itself to the goals of many businesses by effectively protecting digital content.
