The vehicle dashboard panel includes a shell (1) which ensures that the glass (3) of the panel is well enclosed to avoid unwanted reflections into the driver's eye (7). The glass (3) covers a conventional display (4) which the driver is able to see through the glass. On the outside surface of the shell (1) there is an illuminated display (5). Light from this is projected on to the glass (3), and reflects towards the driver's eye (7). The basic structure produces two virtual images (6a,6b) as a result of reflection from the two surfaces of the glass. This is overcome by using an inwardly curved glass panel, with the centre of curvature being in the normal position for the driver's eye.
