Journal ArticleDOI

Emission intermittency in silicon nanocrystals

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present detailed results of blinking studies on individual silicon nanocrystals and demonstrate a relation of the off time distribution to the bleaching and recovery of the emission of nanocrystal ensembles, which gives further insight in the blinking behavior according to ensemble studies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electron-Phonon Coupling and Localization of Excitons in Single Silicon Nanocrystals

TL;DR: A detailed photoluminescence study on single silicon nanocrystals produced by laser pyrolysis reveals nearly homogeneously broadened zero-phonon lines coupled to Si-O-Si phonon transitions in the SiO2 shell.
Journal ArticleDOI

Probing Wave Functions at Semiconductor Quantum-Dot Surfaces by Non-FRET Photoluminescence Quenching

TL;DR: In this article, the quenching rate of colloidal CdSe/ZnS quantum dots induced by functionalized porphyrin molecules was investigated for various QD sizes.
