Journal ArticleDOI
Preparation of an adipogenic hydrogel from subcutaneous adipose tissue.
Christopher J. Poon,Maria Virginia Pereira E Cotta,Shiba Sinha,Jason A. Palmer,Alan A. Woods,Wayne A. Morrison,Keren M. Abberton,Keren M. Abberton +7 more
TL;DR: Adipose-derived stem cells exposed to this hydrogel differentiated into adipocytes with >90% efficiency and in vivo testing in rats showed significant signs of adipogenesis after 8 weeks, making it a promising candidate for adipose engineering applications.
Journal ArticleDOI
An adipogenic gel for surgical reconstruction of the subcutaneous fat layer in a rat model.
Heidi Debels,Yi-Wen Gerrand,Christopher J. Poon,Keren M. Abberton,Keren M. Abberton,Wayne A. Morrison,Wayne A. Morrison,Geraldine M. Mitchell,Geraldine M. Mitchell +8 more
TL;DR: Adipogel is adipogenic and angiogenic and is a promising candidate for subcutaneous fat regeneration; it has the potential to be a valuable adjunct to wound‐healing therapy and reconstructive surgery practice.
Journal ArticleDOI
Melatonin promotes survival of nonvascularized fat grafts and enhances the viability and migration of human adipose-derived stem cells via down-regulation of acute inflammatory cytokines
Shaun S. Tan,Weiqing Zhan,Christopher J. Poon,Xiao-Lian Han,Diego Marre,Sholeh W. Boodhun,Jason A. Palmer,Geraldine M. Mitchell,Geraldine M. Mitchell,Geraldine M. Mitchell,Wayne A. Morrison,Wayne A. Morrison,Wayne A. Morrison +12 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated in vivo that melatonin enhances fat graft volume retention by reducing inflammation and increasing the percentage of adipose volume within fat grafts with comparable volumes to that of cell‐assisted lipotransfer.
Journal ArticleDOI
In vivo tissue engineering of an adipose tissue flap using fat grafts and Adipogel
Heidi Debels,Jason A. Palmer,Xiao-Lian Han,Christopher J. Poon,Keren M. Abberton,Keren M. Abberton,Wayne A. Morrison,Wayne A. Morrison +7 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that a pedicled adipose flap can be generated in rats by combining a blood vessel loop, an adipogenic hydrogel, and a lipoaspirate equivalent.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fate of Free Fat Grafts with or without Adipogenic Adjuncts to Enhance Graft Outcomes.
Howard H.F. Tang,Xiao-Lian Han,Heidi Debels,Beryl Tan,Jason A. Palmer,Christopher J. Poon,Keren M. Abberton,Wayne A. Morrison +7 more
TL;DR: The authors' research suggests that long-term volume retention is in part attributable to new fat regeneration, and measures to facilitate adipogenesis may be equally important.
