The present invention is directed to perform fine low-voltage control without largely increasing the circuit layout area in a low-power consumption structure. In the case of shifting a region to a low-speed mode, a system controller outputs a request signal and an enable signal to a power switch controller and a low-power drive circuit, respectively, to turn off a power switch and to perform a control so that the voltage level of a virtual reference potential becomes about 0.2 V to about 0.3V. The region operates on voltages between a power supply voltage and a virtual reference potential, so that it is controlled in the low-speed mode.

Semiconductor Integrated Circuit Device

A method and system for individually labelling a recording medium at the time that digital information is recorded thereon is provided. The method provides for transferring at least a portion of the digital information in the form of a digital data stream to the medium from a storage location. Title information is extracted from the data stream and used to create a visual label that is placed on the recording medium. The title information on the recording medium uniquely identifies the digital information that is recorded on the medium. In an exemplary embodiment, the system of the invention will use a controller to receive a portion of the digital data stream stored in the storage location. A recorder is in communication with the controller for receiving the data stream from the controller and for recording the data stream on the recording medium. A printer is also in communication with the controller for receiving the title information from the controller and for producing the visual label having the title information on the recording medium. Preferably, the recording medium will be a compact disk, and the printer will be a laser or ink jet type printer that is integrated into the recording device to allow the label to be printed on the compact disk as the compact is either delivered to or ejected from the recording device.

The invention provides an exemplary label printer and methods for printing labels on optical media. According to one exemplary method, an optical medium is inserted into a printing device having a mechanism for rotating the optical medium. The optical medium is rotated with a rotation mechanism. Further, a print head is moved over the optical medium and ink is ejected onto the medium while the medium is rotating to create a label on the medium.

Method and apparatus for printing labels on digital recording media

In semiconductor integrated circuit devices containing a macro, a skew occurs between the clock pulse supplied to the latch in that mother circuit and the clock pulse supplied to the latch inside the macro. A digital video editor employing a single chip special-purpose digital video processing unit (VPU) having the capability to combine several different digital video input signals into a single digital video output signal is disclosed. The VPU comprises a microprocessor operating under a set of instructions which is operative for receiving, storing and manipulating portions of an incoming digital video signal and a delay circuit, coupled to the microprocessor, for delaying execution of a particular instruction if a particular portion upon which the instruction is to operate has not yet been stored. The VPU processes multiple digitized video signals in real time in a time-sharing fashion because its processing speed is substantially greater than the rate at which it receives video data and processes multiple picture elements of a single digital stream simultaneously. In a preferred environment, The VPU operates in conjunction with an IBM compatible personal computer, an inexpensive general purpose computer. By processing video digitally, the VPU avoids generation loss and allows efficient digital compression and storage of video data.

There is disclosed a technique whereby digital video signals can be recorded or reproduced on or from a magnetic tape. Using second controller to control a system such as a DAT recorder employing a digital signal processor, and first coutroller for converting said video signals into analog or digital, the video data are processed as in the conventional method of processing audio data according to the input of the mode selecting key. By the input of the key, the first controller converts analog video data into digital to store them in a memory, or reproduce said stored data by converting them into analog of real time, a different input of the key is checked by the second controller to store said video data into the tape. When storing said video data into the tape, the video signals are stored, imparted with synchronizing pulse to be distinguished from audio signals, and when reproducing said signals from the tape, the synchronizing pulse is detected to store only the video data into the memory, which data are reproduced by the first controller.
