A method for providing navigation instructions on a device is described. As the device traverses a navigated route according to a first mode of transportation, the method displays a first turn-by-turn navigation presentation defined for the first mode. Based on data gathered by the device, the method determines that the device is navigating the route according to a second mode of transportation. The method automatically displays a second, different turn-by-turn navigation presentation defined for the second mode.

The game further includes, for each object being sought, determining an in-store location for the object, displaying though the augmented reality program in-store navigational instructions for each object being sought based upon the in-store location for the object, and confirming, at the processing device, retrieval of each object being sought.

Software authenticates a first user of a first mobile device and a second user of a second mobile device. Each user agrees or has previously agreed to share video data captured by the user with other authenticated users. The software determines whether the first mobile device is located proximate to the second mobile device. Then the software receives video data captured by the second mobile device and transmits the video data to the first mobile device for display along with an annotation, if the first mobile device is proximate to the second mobile device. The annotation indicates the location of the second mobile device relative to the first mobile device and includes data as to camera angle of the second mobile device received from the second mobile device. Method, apparatus and computer program product for displaying items on multiple floors in multi-level maps

Navigation instructions using low-bandwidth signaling are supported in an alternative user interface that may be utilized as either a full replacement or as an enhancement to conventional visual/audio navigation interfaces. In one illustrative example, the alternative interface makes use of the more constrained, but generally broadly available low-bandwidth signaling capability of mobile devices to encode navigation instructions in the form of varying patterns of tactile vibrations that may be imparted from the device to a user as haptic feedback. The user can sense the vibrations and readily translate them into the navigation instructions without needing any kind of special decoding equipment or using any special techniques. The vibrations may be encoded using easy to remember patterns so that a full and rich navigation feature set may be accessed with minimal training on the user's part.
