A secure data parser is provided that may be integrated into any suitable system for securely storing and communicating data. The secure data parser parses data and then splits the data into multiple portions that are stored or communicated distinctly. Encryption of the original data, the portions of data, or both may be employed for additional security. The secure data parser may be used to protect data in motion by splitting original data into portions of data, that may be communicated using multiple communications paths.

Certain embodiments of the present invention provide an archive management application that operates within a host application to provide access to an archive and/or allow access to and/or modification of files in an archive using the host application's interface, instead of operating as a separate standalone archive management application. The user interface component may include an enhanced user interface of a host application that provides an interface for a user. The file management component may include a central directory that provides a representation of the contents of an archive. The decryption key information may be an encrypted version of a decryption key, or portions thereof, or may be portions of an unencrypted version of a decryption key, among others. A system and method are provided for pre-processing encrypted and/or signed messages at a host system before the message is transmitted to a wireless mobile communication device. The message is received at the host system from a message sender. There is determination as to whether any of the message receivers has a corresponding wireless mobile communication device. For each message receiver that has a corresponding wireless mobile communication device, the message is processed so as to modify the message with respect to encryption and/or authentication aspect. The processed message is transmitted to a corresponding wireless mobile communication device. The system and method may include post-processing messages sent from a wireless mobile communications device to a remote system. Authentication and/or encryption message processing is performed upon the message. The processed message may then be sent through the remote system to one or more receivers.

System and method for compressing secure E-mail for exchange with a mobile data communication device

A system and method for remote postage metering of postage indicia, including demanding a desired postage amount and subsequently printing the postage indicia onto a piece of mail. A user inputs certain necessary information, as well as additional desired information, into a local processor-based system. The local system then assembles a postage demand in suitable format and transmits the same to a remote postage metering device. The remote postage metering device then verifies the demand for authority to demand and valid funding. Upon verification, the remote postage meter assembles a data packet representing an authorized postage indicia. The data packet is transmitted to the local system for printing. Printing of the postage indicia may be unaccompanied, or may include additional information. Such additional information may include destination and return address, machine readable routing or identification information, or a complete document to be posted.

A system and method allows portable, encrypted data to be accessible through multiple hosts, including new hosts (14), without requiring a secure link to the new hosts. A split key encryption system encrypts (52) data and stores the encrypted data on a portable device (10). A method and circuitry for generating N-bit parallel CRC code from an N-bit parallel data input source. A generating polynomial function is used to express an array of exclusive-OR gates to which the N-bit parallel data inputs are applied. A plurality of N latches is provided and connected to the exclusive-OR gate array in a feedback fashion to provide the plurality of N-bit parallel CRC codes according to the polynomial function.

A secure terminal includes a host (105) and slaves (125) which send and receive messages via a peripheral component interconnect (PCI) bus (130). The host allows slaves to receive messages from the host and send messages to the host. The host prevents slave-to-slave communication of messages. The host and each slave include interface logic (120) coupled to the PCI bus and a memory (200) for coupling a processor (110) to the interface logic (120). Each dual-port RAM (200) includes a first memory portion for receiving messages from a sender and a second memory portion for storing messages to be transmitted to a receiver.
