The methods evolved and utilized in the Mechanical Dynamics, Inc., (MDI) DRAM and ADAMS Programs are reviewed, including coordinate choice, analysis modes, integration procedure, and use of sparse matrix methods. A large 3-D vehicle simulation run is included as an example, with problem size, run time, experimental verification and graphic display output cited. System requirements for DRAM and ADAMS are included.
