Journal ArticleDOI

Molten lithium nitrate-potassium nitrate eutectic: the reaction of compounds of indium

TL;DR: The reactions of four titanium compounds, of oxidation states (IV) and (III), were reported in pure molten lithium nitrate-potassium nitrate eutectic and in basic nitrate melt solutions containing sodium peroxide, monoxide or hydroxide.
Journal ArticleDOI

Molten lithium-potassium nitrate eutectic: Stabilisation of permanganate

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of dissolved potassium periodate, bromate, chlorate, perchlorate and iodate on the decomposition of potassium permanganate dissolved in lithium-potassium nitrate eutectic melt was studied at temperatures of 210° and 260°.
Journal ArticleDOI

Molten lithium-potassium and sodium-potassium nitrate eutectics: the stabilisation of manganate(VI) and manganate(V)

TL;DR: In this article, the visible-ultraviolet absorptions of the two species were given, the proportion being dependent on the oxide: manganese ratio, with concentrations below 0.1 m oxide or peroxide, mixtures of two oxidation states were produced.
Journal ArticleDOI

Molten nitrite eutectics: the reaction of four lanthanide(III) chlorides

TL;DR: In this article, the reactions of lanthanum(III), cerium (III), praseodymium(III) and europium-III chlorides have been studied in the molten lithium nitrate-potassium nitrate and sodium nitrate -potassium ammonium nitrate eutectics, and the ultimate reaction products have been shown to be oxides (La 2 O 3, CeO 2, Pr 6 O 11 and Eu 2 O 11, respectively) which increased the rate of decomposition of the melts, while in three cases an
