A new perforated core buckling restrained brace

TL;DR: The perforated core buckling restrained brace (PCBRB) as discussed by the authors is a new energy dissipation device for the seismic design of buildings, which consists of two yielding lateral bands which are connected by several equidistant stabilizing bridges.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new modular buckling restrained brace for seismic resistant buildings

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed an innovative BRB as a new energy dissipation device for earthquake resistant buildings, which enables the yielding force and plastic deformation to be adjusted according to building requirements.
Journal ArticleDOI

A constitutive model for a novel modular all-steel buckling restrained brace

TL;DR: In this paper, a material constitutive model is proposed for predicting the hysteretic response and failure of a new all-steel BRB. This BRB offers an almost symmetric response for both compression and tensile loading because of the low interaction between the core and restraining unit.
Journal ArticleDOI

Core behavior and low-cycle fatigue estimation of the Perforated Core Buckling-Restrained Brace

TL;DR: In this paper, the behavior of two different Perforated Core (PC) geometries was analyzed to failure with different load protocols of several maximum deformation amplitudes, and two wavelength prediction equations were proposed to prevent the uncontrolled second-order deformations and the buckling failure of the PCBRB.
