Photoluminescent columnar zinc(II) bimetallomesogen of tridentate [ONO]-donor Schiff base ligand

TL;DR: In this article, a new zinc(II) bimetallomesogenic complex, [Zn2L2], of tridentate [ONO]-donor Schiff base ligand (L = N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-4-hexadecyloxysalicylaldimines) was synthesized and their mesomorphic and photoluminescence properties were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Time-resolved measurements of the dynamics of the photoinduced smectic- C α * –smectic- A transition

TL;DR: In this paper, high resolution time-resolved dielectric dispersion measurements carried out during the photoisomerization process demonstrate that the magnitude of the uv intensity mimics the role played by temperature in determining the behavior of the soft mode relaxation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Non-linear dielectric response of a ferroelectric liquid crystal

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple method for extraction of the non-linear contributions to the dielectric constant of liquid crystals is presented. But with few exceptions, most investigations have been only in the linear regime.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of pressure on the dynamics of the photostimulated orientational ordering transition in a liquid crystal.

TL;DR: Whereas the time scales of the system to undergo such a transition increases with pressure, the thermal back relaxation process to recover the original phase occurs faster at elevated pressures.
