TL;DR: The kinetics of the elimination from the blood stream of intravenously injected fat emulsion (Intralipid®) and of chylo-micrones have been studied in the fasting dog and the physiological significance of the maximal elimination rate above 1.1 mM and the concentration dependent elimination below is briefly discussed.

Effect of substance P on various vascular beds in the dog.

TL;DR: Using the electromagnetic flowmeter technique, the blood flow in the aorta, carotid, hepatic, superior mesenteric, renal and femoral arteries and portal vein was recorded during continuous i.v. infusion of synthetic Substance P in 8 dogs, indicating that the liver has a high capacity for inactivating SP.

Cardiovascular function in extreme obesity.

TL;DR: It is concluded that the circulatory dimensions and the cardiac output reflect an adequate adaptation to the metabolic demands laid upon the circulation in obesity, and the elevated filling pressures of the ventricles and the high systemic and pulmonary vascular resistance suggest that obesity is not without deleterious effect on cardiovascular function.

Reversibility of cardiovascular changes in extreme obesity. Effects of weight reduction through jejunoileostomy.

TL;DR: The observations indicate that the circulatory effects of gross obesity are largely reversible over weight loss periods of up to 3.5 years, apart from signs of a reduced myocardial wall compliance.
