Abstract: This feasibility analysis describes spacecraft vibration isolation and fine pointing using Lorentz Force actuators. Dynamics of a representative spacecraft and instrument are modeled in one degree of motion freedom, including models of appendage resonance on the bus (deployed solar arrays) and line-of-sight disturbances due to reaction wheel imbalances, aerodynamic torques, and control system jitter due to sensor noise. Instrument image distortions below 1 micro-radian RMS over exposure times up to 100 sec are achieved using realistic isolator umbilical stiffnesses and contemporary sensors.
